Our 2,500+ members (homeowners) are each paired with a dedicated handyman who manages lightweight upgrades, repairs, and maintenance. All of our handymen are full-time employees, hired for their technical expertise, customer service skills, and clean background checks. Our AI-powered systems empower our members, handymen, and internal teams to operate efficiently at scale.

The Opportunity

As the Growth Lead: Walk-thru Experience, you will shape the crucial first in-person interaction between Honey Homes and prospective members. Through our unique Home Walk-thru, we demonstrate why Honey Homes is a superior solution, provide tailored insights on homeowners’ to-do lists, and drive conversions. Your mission is to transform leads into enthusiastic members.

You will initially manage a team of five Walk-thru Specialists in the SF Bay Area, with the goal of staffing and scaling operations across four additional markets. This role is highly cross-functional - you’ll experiment, build new processes, and help us improve conversion while unlocking growth. You’ll be at the forefront of customer experience, leading a high-performing team and partnering deeply with Marketing, Product, and Operations.

This position is based in Oakland, CA and reports to our Co-founder / Head of Marketing. To deliver outstanding results, you should be present in the office or out in the field with your team and customers every day.

Three-month Outcomes
  • Every new lead receives a personalized and exceptional experience from interest through their first 30 days.

  • Outcome 1A: Quality: 80% of Walk-thrus convert to Paid via training and process innovation

  • Outcome 1B: Availability: Scale the team so every new lead is offered 5 Walk-thru slots within 48 hours in all markets; each representative is consistently on time and prepared.

  • Supporting Outcomes

    • Every First Visit for a new member is rated five stars; zero First Visit escalations (in partnership with Operations)

    • New Paid Member ARPU of $3,000 or greater

    • Define, report on, and maintain CAC of WT-Specialist cost of $100 or less per new Paid Member

    • Daily performance management: metrics, coaching, shadowing, training, hiring, and terminations

    • Partner with Product, Sales, and Operations to build personalized experiences for every new customer

    • Drive outcomes through innovation, process improvement, and cross-departmental collaboration

Competencies
  • Prioritizes against the whole problem: Can hold the concept of the whole problem we’re trying to solve in their head, and can communicate that in written and verbal form. From this basis, can regularly reprioritize experiments and initiatives to build towards the most important goals.

  • Builds analytical rigor: Can self-serve data to set up clear dashboards in any tool (e.g., HubSpot, Google Sheets, Metabase) and run ad-hoc analysis to gain actionable insights. Self-sufficient enough to set up and integrate new tools, automations, and reports.

  • Consumer-centric: Builds understanding of the problem by starting with the consumer, and working backwards to build the systems and processes to deliver for them. Allows this understanding to ripple into changes in how we do things as needed to hit growth and retention targets. Isn’t shy about meeting customers in-person.

  • Motivating manager: Excels at rallying teams through feedback, recognition, and enabling career growth. Encourages team self-sufficiency and skill-building.

  • Collaborative and resourceful: Works seamlessly across Marketing, Product, and Operations to solve problems and thrives independently when building systems from scratch.

  • You’re unafraid of ambiguity: Rapid change and learning is exciting to you, and you thrive in ambiguous, startup environments.

  • Curious quick study: When you hear “¾-inch angle stop,” you ask what that is - and add it to your personal dictionary. Same for processes and ways to solve problems.

Qualifications

We’re seeking a motivated team member eager to have a major impact and grow with us. Ideal backgrounds include Management Consulting or Investment Banking experience combined with operational roles at a fast-growing startup. Exposure to Sales, Business Operations, and high-performing team management is a plus.
