Job Description
About this job:
This opportunity will offer the successful candidate a dynamic role in supporting Group, shareholder and regulatory legal entity reporting and working on a number of existing and newly established processes for a large, global reinsurance company. The role will be part of a key finance team leading the accounting and financial reporting. The role will offer a diverse experience across multiple reporting bases, regulatory filings and ESG reporting and an interesting mix of both Group and legal entity reporting aspects.
- Coordination and/or review of financial statements and financial reporting activities for multiple accounting bases forming part of the PartnerRe Group and Bermuda local reporting
- Coordination and/or review of regulatory filings and surveys for the PartnerRe Group and/or Bermuda legal entities (life/non-life composites)
- Review of press releases, results presentations, and Group/Bermuda Audit Committee reporting
- Oversight of close reporting calendars and significant coordination and communication with teams in other PartnerRe locations globally to produce ESG reporting to our parent, Covéa, and be part of the team developing the framework for Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) reporting.
- Contribution to a strong control environment by review and enhancement of documentation and activities on financial reporting and regulatory reporting controls
- Accounting policy support and guidance for significant new transactions or changes to material contractual arrangements
- Compilation and review of financial results for various third party requests
- Participation of in ad-hoc external reporting related projects
ESG Reporting:
- Annually PartnerRe Group publishes its own ESG Report on its Corporate website. The role holder will be responsible for co-ordinating the production of this report with the business: underwriting, investments, risk, legal and compliance and HR. This co-ordination will entail planning timeline for production of the report and working with the business contributors on the content. Maintaining adequate audit trail and backup/support for all assertions and statements made in the report. Working with Corporate Communication and external publisher in finalising the report. - The 2024 ESG report must be revamped in Q4 2024 with the aim of adding CSRD metrics and narrative as appropriate. This will be the responsibility of the role holder.
- Risk is responsible for the collation of the CSRD metrics from HR, Underwriting, etc and ensuring adequate controls are in place and will own the CSRD dashboard where the CSRD metrics are stored. The CSRD dashboard will produce a file with CSRD metrics for upload to Covéa consolidation system. The role holder will be responsible for loading to Covéa consolidation system.
- The role holder will be responsible for the review, finalisation and submission of CSRD Narratives to Covéa.
- The role also requires co-ordination of various ESG Surveys/Questionnaires and information requests from Regulators, Brokers, Clients, Third Party Capital providers and rating agencies.
- The role holder will work with Risk and Covéa as new CSRD metrics and regulations are phased in over the coming years.
Qualifications
About you:
Skills Required
- Strong ability to work independently with an ambitious attitude
- High degree of attention to detail, ensuring information produced is complete, accurate and of a high standard
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective, clear and timely communication skills
- Ability to oversee timelines and manage projects to meet or exceed all deadlines with teams across geographical boundaries
- Strong IT skills, including experience and skilled use of Microsoft applications (PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
- Ability to identify and execute continuous improvements to existing processes and implement new processes
Qualifications and Experience Required
- ACA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent professional qualification
- A minimum of 4-5 years’ post qualification experience in the (re)insurance industry or in a Big 4 accounting firm
- Comfortable reviewing and analysing technical information and results
- Knowledge and practical experience with Solvency II or Bermuda regulatory reporting for general and long-term business is an advantage but not a requirement
- Knowledge and experience in ESG reporting is an advantage but not a requirement
- Strong up-to-date technical knowledge and experience in dealing with complex accounting, disclosure and reporting matters in the (re)insurance industry
