The Group Reporting Accountant is responsible for financial reporting, maintaining client records, preparing consolidated management accounts, and ensuring compliance with regulatory returns in the insurance sector.

Polo Works is a provider of outsourced services within the insurance industry. Due to business growth, a senior finance opportunity is available, reporting to the Head of Client Finance, responsible for financial reporting, processes and controls across Lloyd’s syndicates. The successful candidate must have strong insurance accounting experience, first class people management skills and an ability to deal with senior stakeholders both internal and external.
The purpose of this role is to provide a professional accounting service to our clients, ensuring all responsibilities, services, and deliverables are carried out with accuracy and efficiency to meet client deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Delivering agreed services to clients which may include:
Maintenance of client records and reconciliation of ledgers.
Preparing and issuing group recharges (indirect and direct charges)
Preparation of group consolidated management accounts and consolidation of financial reports and regulatory returns.
Preparation of Statutory accounts and adjustments for GAAP financial statement reporting.

Preparing, reviewing and processing journals and reference data on ledger.
Approving payments in line with relevant delegated authority and monitoring/resolving outstanding invoices/statements.

Monitoring cash movements and balances and escalating to the Client Manager when required.
Processing payroll on behalf of clients.
Liaising with regulatory bodies, auditors and clients.
Ensuring procedures and controls are documented, followed, and updated.
Keeping abreast of regulatory changes and work with clients, third parties and other Polo staff to ensure such changes are implemented in a controlled and timely manner.
Ensuring controls are as required and resolve any issues.
Assisting with recruitment, training, development, and succession planning.

Knowledge and Qualifications
Qualified accountant or qualified by experience
Knowledge of general insurance finance, including regulatory returns is desirable
Good knowledge of Sage Intacct/Q&A accounting software is desirable
