We have an exciting opportunity for a Group Accountant - Consolidation and Reporting to join our Finance team here at Harrods. This critical role will be supporting the delivery of accurate, complete and consistent Group financial reporting, with responsibility for the consolidation process and key elements of the period-end close.
About the Role
The Group Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and completeness of the Group's financial reporting processes. They will be responsible for ensuring financial outputs are fully reconciled, understood and aligned with Group standards, while proactively identifying and resolving intercompany discrepancies. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, they will drive corrective actions and support the delivery of timely, high-quality financial information.
Job Responsibilities
- Own the Group consolidation process, ensuring all entity results are captured accurately, completely and in line with reporting requirements.
- Support the month-end close process, including the review and validation of entity submissions to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve consolidation differences, intercompany discrepancies and reporting inconsistencies, ensuring all adjustments are clearly understood and appropriately documented.
- Support the review of the Group balance sheet, analysing movements and providing clear explanations for key variances.
- Prepare and maintain robust documentation to support internal controls, audit requirements and external reporting obligations.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with a strong understanding of financial reporting, consolidation principles and balance sheet management. They will have excellent analytical and reconciliation skills, with the ability to investigate variances, identify potential risks and provide meaningful financial insights. Advanced Excel skills, experience working with financial systems and exceptional attention to detail are essential, alongside a proactive approach and strong sense of ownership.
You will be an organised and adaptable professional, capable of managing multiple priorities and delivering to tight deadlines, particularly during period-end close cycles. The successful candidate will be a clear and confident communicator, able to explain financial positions and variances accurately to a range of stakeholders. Experience gained within audit or a structured, control-focused environment, combined with strong exposure to financial governance, compliance and month-end close processes, will be highly valued.
