Location: Cambridge, UK (hybrid) with travel to the office twice per week.
Are you a proactive and technically minded Financial Accountant?
We are looking for Financial Accountant to join us. As part of your responsibility you'll manage and deliver key financial reporting and audit requirements.
This role will focus on ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of group consolidations and statutory accounts, managing the audit process, and streamlining the existing holding structure. The successful candidate will also play a critical role in supporting the finance team during a period of transition, including potential preparation for a new ERP implementation and the FY25 audit process.
What you'll be doing:
Audit Management and Statutory accounts Preparation
- Statutory accounts preparation for legacy group entities, including audited consolidated accounts, ensuring all statutory filing deadlines are met.
- Proactively manage the audit process with PwC and internal teams (such as tax), ensuring the timely provision of audit evidence and addressing queries effectively.
Structural Simplification
- Simplify and eliminate elements of the previous holding structure, including offsetting intercompany loan balances and instruments.
- Work closely with the Group Tax Manager to assess the tax implications of structural changes and maximise tax efficiencies.
Future Potential Support Areas
- Provide technical accounting support to the existing finance team as they prepare for a new ERP implementation.
- Assist with the FY25 audit of Jagex Limited and the Janus entity structure, ensuring compliance and accuracy in reporting.
- Assisting with month end close processes and management reporting
- Improving internal and external reporting processes
What we're looking for:
- Qualified Accountant (ideally ACA or equivalent)
- Post qualification experience in a group finance or external reporting environment with experience preparing (not just auditing or reviewing) consolidations and group-level reporting
- Proven experience in the preparation of multi-currency group consolidations with different functional and reporting currencies and managing external audits.
- Strong understanding of intercompany transactions, loan balances, and tax implications.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
- Able to work independently with a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Strong excel skills and attention to detail
