Northrop Grumman Systems has an opening for Staff Electronics Engineer - Ground System Architect/Integrator to join the team of qualified individuals on our Avionics Integration Organization. This leadership role is located Rando Bernardo, CA.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Determine customer needs and develop approaches, implementations, components, interfaces, identify standards and constraints, civil requirements, and security needs
- Survey the industry for awareness of customer needs and alternative systems
- Lead trade studies, technology development, and subcontractor teams
- Lead technical and cost proposals
- Write white papers describing offerings and provide leadership and/or direction to software integration, test leads, and various engineering teams
- Once in role, this position could offer a hybrid work environment. Scheduled telework days are approved at manager's discretion. This position requires the ability to travel up to 25% of the time
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 12 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 7 years of related engineering experience.
- Must have experience working with aerospace Ground System architectures
- Must have a minimum of 6 years of experience in hardware design, hardware architecture, or systems engineering roles
- Must have demonstrated experience creating and maintaining, and releasing engineering drawings, schematics, BOMs, and product definition documentation
- Must have experience with configuration management and engineering change processes, including document revision control and release workflows
- Must have proven ability to develop and maintain architecture documentation, including system-level diagrams, interface definitions, and technical baselines
- Must have experience using PLM/PDM systems for drawing management, document control, and product release activities
- Must have strong understanding of product lifecycle management, configuration control, and design documentation best practices
- Must have the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and program management teams to ensure accurate product definition and release
- Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of, or experience with, common ground approaches, implementations, components, standards, interfaces, constraints, and security needs
- Working knowledge of systems engineering principles, processes, software and hardware integration
- Experience with tools such as CAD, ECAD, PLM, and ERP systems supporting product release and lifecycle management
- Experience with Agile development and JIRA
- Experience writing and presenting technical information to customers and internal management audience
- Experience with Cyber Security requirements and/or implementation
- Experience in initial design, review, and the approval process and implementation thereof said design cradle to grave
- Experience in Team Center, the Team Center release process, CATIA and CAD drawing
- Experience with supplier subcontractors and supplier SOWs
