Application Engineer Controls - Niagara
What you will do
The primary responsibility for this role is to Executing Building Management System global projects, detailed engineering as per country specific standards. Programming DDC & supervisory controllers, replicate each part of sequence into control logic for controller. Understand Graphics requirement, design graphics templates, symbol libraries as per regional requirements. Independent execution of task throughout the project lifecycle, handle first level escalation. Follow processes, maintain required quality standards, on time deliveries, & ensure customer satisfaction.
How you will do it
- Review MEP drawings and identify HAVC equipment, dampers and sensors
- Review control specifications and sequence of operations
- Generation of initial review sheets and RFI’s
- Creation of Bill of material, selection of sensors, control valves, dampers, air flow stations, controllers etc.
- Select control devices and prepare controller wiring, terminations, interlock wiring accordingly
- Preparation of I/O Summary
- Preparation of BMS network architecture
- From provided sequence should understand control logic required to program controller.
- Should be good at programming controllers & interlocks required.
- Should able to prepare test plan, perform simulation, & troubleshoot errors.
- Should able to handle programming at supervisory level and deliver projects to customers.
- Review control specifications and sequence of operations for graphics requirement
- Generation of initial review sheets and RFI’s
- Design graphics templates, symbol libraries as per regional requirements
- Ensure quality assurance and defect free hardware, software & Graphics delivery
- Adherence with all processes and guidelines necessary to execute project within timeline
Niagara Analytics: -
- Design and deploy algorithms with Niagara Analytics.
- Can mitigate issues at both the local and enterprise levels.
- Fault detection and diagnostics (FDD) algorithms on equipment and subsystems.
- Building blocks for custom algorithms and integrate with third-party visualization packages.
- JACE controller and server level programming knowledge.
- Familiar Niagara Framework wiresheet programming.
- Data visualization (Creating a new PX view, creating a new UX chart, Exporting a PX chart, Analytic Web Table)
- Graphics bindings (Analytic web chart binding, Analytic rollup binding, Analytic table binding, Analytic value binding, Analytic web rollup binding)
- Missing data strategies (Linear interpolation, K-nearest neighbor, Aggregation strategies, Missing data configuration, Missing data indication).
- Knowledge of Niagara tag libraries including Haystack tags
- Creating HTML5 analytic dashboards and graphic pages.
- Energy reports (Aggregation report, Average Profile report, Equipment Operation report, Load Duration report, Ranking report, Relative Contribution report, Spectrum Summary report)
- Charts (Aggregation chart, Analytic WebChart, Average Profile chart, Equipment Operation chart, Load duration chart, Ranking chart, Relative contribution chart, Spectrum chart)
- Niagara Analytics order knowledge.
What we look for
- BE/ME (Instrumentation / Electrical/ Electronics / Electronics & Communication)
- Strong knowledge of BMS architecture, Supervisory Controllers, DDC controllers, Sensors & Actuators etc.
- Strong knowledge of Niagara architecture, Platform, & controllers.
- Experience in software programming and commissioning of Niagara controllers.
- Strong knowledge of Niagara Analytics
- Experience in Industrial Automation field (PLC programming/SCADA) will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems like Chilled Water System, Cooling Towers, Primary & Secondary pumping systems, Hot Water System, types of AHUs, FCUs, VAV systems etc.
- Knowledge of different types of network protocols like BACNet, LON, Modbus, OPC, and other protocols.
- Must be proficient in wiring of starters, field devices, safety interlocks & panels
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD
- Experience in the field of Industrial Automation (SCADA/HMI screens development) will be added an advantage
- Experience in remote engineering, installation and commissioning of HVAC & BMS systems.
- Should have worked for BMS projects like pharmaceuticals, airports, commercial buildings, hospitals etc.
- Must be a quick learner & brilliant problem solving capabilities
- Proficient in written and verbal communication
Preferred
Experience in Building Automation System or BMS Design Engineering.
