The Graphic Designer is responsible for the creative development and production of visual communications that support the Detroit Athletic Club's brand and member experience. Working under the direction of the Design Director, this position develops compelling print and digital collateral that promotes Club events, dining, athletics, Foundation initiatives, publications, and strategic communications while ensuring consistency with established brand standards.
The Graphic Designer is a creative production role focused on visual storytelling, brand execution, and high-quality design across multiple communication channels.
Duties/Responsibilities:Creative Development
- Design and produce compelling print and digital communications that support the Club's strategic initiatives and member engagement.
- Execute creative concepts developed by the Design Director while contributing original ideas and creative solutions.
- Develop visual assets that communicate information clearly and reinforce the DAC brand.
Graphic Design & Production
- Design brochures, invitations, menus, flyers, signage, advertisements, posters, and promotional collateral.
- Create graphics for the Club website, mobile app, digital signage, email marketing campaigns, and social media.
- Prepare production-ready artwork for commercial printing and digital distribution.
- Assist with layout and production of the DAC News.
Brand Stewardship
- Maintain consistency with established DAC brand standards across all communications.
- Participate in creative reviews and implement revisions as directed.
- Maintain organized project files and creative assets in accordance with departmental standards.
Collaboration
- Collaborate with the Design Director, Managing Editor, Photographer, digital communications team, and internal stakeholders to develop creative solutions that support departmental priorities.
- Support photography integration by incorporating imagery into marketing collateral and communications materials.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and creative planning for Club initiatives and special events.
Professional Development
- Remain current on design trends, software, production techniques, and best practices.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
- Working knowledge of print production processes and digital file preparation.
- Ability to design for multiple communication channels, including print, web, email, mobile applications, and digital signage.
- Strong understanding of typography, layout, composition, color theory, and visual hierarchy.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to receive creative direction, incorporate feedback, and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with Club staff, members, and vendors.
- Ability to work on-site during normal business hours, as regular in-person collaboration is an essential function of the position.

- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Fine Arts, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Experience designing both print and digital media.
- Experience working within established brand standards.
- One to three years of professional graphic design experience preferred.
- Hospitality, private club, nonprofit, or agency experience preferred.
