  • Manages grants, monitoring and compliance processes, fostering partnerships among County departments.

  • Provides overall management support for projects to ensure projects are moving forward in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Provides periodic reports on project status and potential problem areas, consults with other county departments and vendors to discuss problems and interpret requirements related to projects.

  • Oversees the delivery of outside contracts or vendor services pertaining to projects, ensuring that work is completed according to established agreements and timeliness.

  • Researches grant related programs and initiatives to aid departments in serving community needs, staying abreast of state and federal programs, and funding opportunities.

  • Responds to citizen’s questions and complaints; resolves or refers to appropriate person; responds to correspondence and telephone calls or refers to appropriate person.

  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

  • This is a Temporary assignment and there are no benefits included.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, or related field or two (2) years of experience directing a major program area; OR five (5) years of experience in management in a public agency or private organization; OR any equivalent combination of education or experience.

  • 2 to 5 years job related experience.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, department and elected officials.

  • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.

  • Relationships between local, state and federal governments, public interest groups and private enterprise.

  • Methods of performing complex administrative, organizational and procedural analyses.

  • Detailed organizational and functional structure of County government.

  • Local, state and federal laws, regulations and procedures affecting functions of the County;

  • Contract management; computer applications.

  • Supervise and/or direct the work; independently research, analyze and make effective recommendations on administrative, management, budgetary and fiscal practices, procedures and problems.

  • Prepare, negotiate and administer contracts; research, compile and analyze statistical and other complex data; write complex reports in a logical, comprehensive, concise manner.

  • Prioritize workload efficiently, without direct instruction, to meet deadlines under changing conditions.

  • Exercise initiative; facilitate, coordinate and negotiate between staff members of different County and non-County departments and offices.

  • Acquire subject matter expertise in program specific projects; initiate and develop efficient, cost-effective policies; prepare reports and present ideas orally and in writing.

  • Computer experience and technical experience in support of various software programs.

SALARY: $30.00 per hour
