We are looking for a highly skilled and results-driven Grant Writer to join our remote team and contribute significantly to securing funding for the organization. This role involves conducting thorough research, crafting compelling grant proposals, and managing the grant application process from start to finish.

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will also be responsible for maintaining a detailed grant calendar to track application progress, ensure compliance with deadlines, and maximize funding opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth research to identify and evaluate potential funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other grant-making entities.

• Prepare, write, and submit compelling grant proposals, sponsorship packages, and funding applications that align with the organization's mission and objectives.

• Ensure strict compliance with grant requirements, funding guidelines, and deadlines, maintaining meticulous records for auditing and reporting purposes.

• Develop and manage a comprehensive grants calendar to track application progress, submission deadlines, reporting requirements, and renewal opportunities.

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with potential donors, institutional funders, corporate sponsors, and philanthropic organizations to foster long-term funding partnerships.

• Identify new funding opportunities through continuous research, networking, and analysis of industry trends, proactively seeking additional sources of financial support.

• Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and leadership teams to review and refine budget proposals, ensuring financial feasibility and alignment with grant objectives.

• Draft detailed grant reports, impact statements, and post-award documentation to demonstrate the effectiveness and outcomes of funded programs.

• Work closely with program managers and key stakeholders to gather essential data, success stories, and evidence supporting grant applications.

• Develop innovative fundraising strategies and sponsorship proposals to secure additional revenue streams beyond traditional grant funding.

• Monitor and analyze the performance of funded projects, ensuring funds are allocated appropriately and that programs meet the intended objectives.

• Assist in the preparation of donor acknowledgment letters, annual reports, and grant-related communications to maintain transparency and donor engagement.

• Stay up to date with changes in grant policies, funding trends, and best practices in proposal writing to enhance the organization's funding success rate.

• Coordinate with marketing and communication teams to align grant narratives with organizational branding and storytelling strategies.

• Provide guidance and training to junior staff or volunteers involved in grant writing and fundraising activities.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or a related field or 2-5 years’ experience.

• Must have at least two to three years' experience as a Grant /Proposal writer.

• Familiarity with budget preparation and financial documentation related to grant proposals.

• Understanding of nonprofit operations, programs, and impact measurement.

• Strong knowledge of grant application processes, funding sources, and compliance requirements.

• Ability to collaborate with internal teams, program managers, and financial officers, as well as engage with donors and funding agencies

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or related field OR 2-5 years' experience
  • At least 2-3 years' experience as a grant/proposal writer
