What you will do:
• Lead the design and development of complex Grafana dashboards for infrastructure, application, and business metrics• Architect and implement end-to-end observability solutions using Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, and other data sources• Define dashboard standards, naming conventions, and best practices across teams• Build and optimize advanced queries (PromQL, LogQL, SQL, Flux) for performance and accuracy• Design and manage alerting strategies and escalation workflows• Develop custom integrations, automation, and Grafana API-based solutions• Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, and engineering teams to translate requirements into monitoring solutions• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance• Participate in capacity planning, performance tuning, and incident analysis• Integrate Grafana with data sources such as Prometheus, Loki, InfluxDB, Elasticsearch, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.• Create and manage alerts, panels, variables, and templating in Grafana• Optimize dashboards for performance, usability, and scalability• Troubleshoot issues related to dashboards, data sources, and queries• Maintain documentation and best practices for dashboards and monitoring standards
The skills you bring:
• 5+ years of experience in monitoring, observability, or DevOps roles• Strong hands-on expertise with Grafana (advanced dashboards, variables, transformations, alerts)• Deep experience with Prometheus and PromQL• Experience with log aggregation tools (Grafana Loki / ELK stack)• Solid understanding of metrics, logs, and distributed tracing concepts• Experience integrating Grafana with multiple data sources (SQL/NoSQL/time-series DBs)• Strong Linux knowledge and troubleshooting skills• Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows• Experience writing queries in PromQL, Flux, SQL, or LogQL• Experience in REST APIs and JSON
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills• Experience with Grafana plugin development (React, TypeScript)• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes monitoring (kube-prometheus-stack, Helm)• Experience with cloud-native monitoring (AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, GCP)• Scripting or programming experience (Python, Go, Bash)• Familiarity with SLO/SLI design and error budgets• Experience with security and access control in Grafana• Experience with Grafana Loki & Tempo• Experience with alerting systems (Alertmanager, PagerDuty, Opsgenie)
