Role Overview:

We’re looking for a highly motivated individual with a background in Engineering & Physical Sciences to join our Design & Product Development team.

As a Graduate Engineer, you will be reporting to Head of Design & Product Development. You will be responsible for contributing to our next generation data center designs. You will work with an experienced team of Engineers and Technology professionals to bring ideas to reality.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a track record of team leadership within an academic environment, a thorough understanding of design principles, the ability to manage projects, experience in modelling & simulation and CAD, as well as a passion for seeing their concepts take shape during construction, all while working as part of a cohesive team.

You will partner with our local development and operations teams across all our existing facilities, including Finland, Iceland, London in this global role based in Verne’s London Head Office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design: You will be responsible for developing new concepts and presenting them to the Design and Product Development team, executing in partnership with senior members of the team to see concepts through to execution.
  • Vendor management: Coordinate external partner teams for the success of the project.
  • Technical Feasibility: Market research for new and emerging data center and energy generation technologies, development of technical whitepapers to support the Product Development Roadmap.
  • Product Management: Take ownership of key product initiatives within Verne from concept to launch.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering or Physical Science or similar field
  • Hands-on experience in CAD and proven ability to learn new skills independently.
  • Track record of leading initiatives or projects to successful outcomes.
  • Interest in the built environment, technology and infrastructure
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel regularly between UK, Finland, and Iceland as part of the role.
