We are seeking a highly skilled and creative designer to join our dynamic product design and engineering team. What You'll do

As a Graduate Product Design Engineer, you will design and develop innovative hardware products from concept to production. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest standards of quality, performance, and user experience. Your experience in design engineering will be crucial in driving our projects to success and exceeding our customers' expectations.

As a Graduate Product Design Engineer, you will utilise your design engineering skills to bring ideas to reality. This includes the following: Negotiating and collaborating cross functionally with various departments, such as Customer Experience, Product Management, Manufacturing, Material Engineering, and technology groups to refine and execute the vision for the product. Developing technical knowledge in areas outside your realm of expertise to understand other teams’ design constraints and craft creative solutions to technical problems. Collaborating with outside vendors and internal manufacturing experts to optimise designs for function, aesthetic, and manufacturability.

Let's talk about Key Responsibilities
  • Utilise Design Thinking to navigate the discovery and delivery process.

  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

  • Conceptualise ideas through multiple mediums (sketches, low fidelity prototypes, rapid prototyping etc.

  • Utilise 3D CAD to communicate detailed designs ensuring fit, form, and function (including tolerance analysis & DFMEA).

  • Conduct feasibility studies, create prototypes, and perform rigorous testing to validate design concepts.

  • Utilise 2D CAD tools to develop part specifications and technical drawings to communicate detailed designs with suppliers.

 

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks, NX)

  • An understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and production techniques.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively and strategically.

  • Excellent communication skills: both written and verbal, ability to clearly communicate design ideas, contribute to brainstorming.
