The Government Sales leader will lead commercial activities across government and public‑sector (CARES) accounts. The role focuses on driving revenue growth, strengthening relationships with government stakeholders—including through Public‑Private Partnerships (PPP)—building the distributor ecosystem, and enabling customer growth through value‑based selling of Danaher Diagnostics platform solutions. This position reports to the Vice President, Diagnostics Platform, India and is a part of the Diagnostics group at the Danaher Corporation located in Mumbai or Bengaluru and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
1. Strategy
· Develop and execute the right strategy and business plans to achieve government business objectives.
· Analyze competition and market trends; collaborate cross‑functionally to drive aligned execution.
2. Sales & Revenue
· Gain deep market intelligence to achieve targeted market share across assigned product portfolios.
· Drive revenue through new opportunities and expansion within existing accounts.
3. Leadership
· Model Danaher’s core behaviors and leadership competencies.
· Lead and guide sales, tender, and PPP teams.
· Build the right organizational structure to deliver business outcomes.
4. Market & Customer Focus
· Strengthen customer satisfaction and loyalty.
· Build and maintain relationships with key government stakeholders at state and central levels.
· Support growth through solution‑based, value‑driven selling.
5. Business Hygiene & Operations
· Establish and maintain high standards for operations and commercial execution.
· Drive processes for distribution, contracting, business planning, forecasting, AOP, budgeting, and KPIs.
6. Compliance
· Ensure full adherence to standard Danaher business processes.
· Report compliance issues and partner with Quality & Regulatory for management reviews.
7. Talent Development
· Develop, nurture, and retain key talent.
· Ensure high‑quality performance management (P4G) and development planning (D4G).
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Master’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in Government account management, strategic sales, or business development, preferably within the Diagnostics or Medical Equipment sector.
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership or management role, leading and developing account management teams.
- Strong strategic vision and the ability to apply DBS to problem‑solving.
- Effective in cross‑functional collaboration and crisis/conflict management.
- Proven leadership and ability to develop and lead high-performing teams.
- Experience managing CARES accounts including Central Government health programs.
- Experience driving PPP initiatives at state/central/corporation levels.
- Demonstrated operational excellence.
