We are looking for a Government Affairs Lead to spearhead government engagement for our Fox IT business in the Netherlands, and to support NCC Group’s wider European Government Affairs activity. This is a high-impact role embedded within a growth market. You will work at the intersection of policy, cyber security, and business development, ensuring that regulatory insight is translated into tangible commercial outcomes.
Based in the Netherlands and reporting to the UK-based Director, Government Affairs & Analyst Relations, you will work closely with Fox IT leadership, European colleagues, and cross-functional teams across Sales, Consulting & Implementation, Threat Intelligence, and Communications & Marketing.

You will play a critical role in:
- Driving revenue growth by embedding policy insight into client engagements and partner with commercial and technical teams to translate policy developments into client-relevant propositions and solutions
- Protecting market access by shaping EU and national sovereignty policies
- Enabling European expansion by strengthening Fox IT’s reputation and influence in key markets
Key Responsibilities
Government engagement and influence
- Build and maintain senior relationships with government departments, regulators, and policymakers in the Netherlands and key EU institutions
- Identify and engage influential stakeholders, including political champions, regulators, and industry bodies
- Represent Fox IT and NCC Group in trade association bodies like Cyberveilig Nederlands, and other external forums, including conferences, hearings, and roundtables
Policy insight and strategic advisory
- Provide early warning of regulatory and political developments, translating these into actionable commercial and strategic insights
- Analyse EU and national legislative developments (including cyber security, digital regulation, and sovereignty initiatives) and assess their impact on business priorities
- Advise senior leadership on risks, opportunities, and strategic positioning
Commercial enablement
- Directly support revenue generation by contributing policy insight to bids, tenders, and client engagements, particularly in the public sector and regulated industries
- Work closely with Sales, Consulting, and Technical teams to embed regulatory insight into propositions and client conversations
- Support strategic accounts with policy-driven insights to strengthen relationships and unlock opportunities
Sovereignty and market access
- Monitor and shape EU and national technology sovereignty policies and frameworks
- Advise on “European preference” and localisation requirements affecting eligibility for public sector and regulated market opportunities
- Support internal teams in navigating regulatory requirements in client engagements and delivery
Positioning and thought leadership
- Strengthen Fox IT’s reputation as a trusted expert in cyber policy and regulation
- Contribute to thought leadership, including policy reports, insights, and external communications
- Work with external communications functions to amplify policy insight for brand and market positioning
Internal collaboration and capability building
- Partner with subject matter experts across cyber security and threat intelligence to develop policy positions and responses
- Support internal stakeholders with policy expertise in client engagements, research, and strategic initiatives
- Act as a connector between policy, technical, and commercial teams to maximise the value of Government Affairs
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Fluency in Dutch and English (additional European languages, particularly Spanish, Portuguese or German are advantageous)
- Experience in a relevant environment such as:
- Public affairs consultancy or in-house government affairs
- Government, EU or international institutions (including NATO) institutions, or regulatory bodies
- Political or policy roles in technology, digital, or cyber domains
- Experience engaging with policy, regulatory, or legislative processes in the Netherlands and/or EU
- Experience in campaigns, advocacy, or influencing policy outcomes
- Deep understanding of Dutch and EU political, regulatory, and institutional landscapes
- Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to connect policy developments to revenue opportunities and client needs
- Excellent communication skills (written and spoken), with the ability to translate complex regulatory topics into clear, actionable insights
- Relationship-building expertise, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders externally and internally
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment, balancing strategic policy work with immediate business priorities
- Self-starter mindset, with strong judgement, initiative, and accountability
- Strong prioritisation and delivery focus, with the ability to manage competing demands

Skills Required
