The Team:
Celonis provides the leading cloud-native Orchestration Engine Enterprise B2B. The Orchestration Engine is a full SaaS solution that enables businesses to build out fully automated workflows using modern no-code/low-code tooling. We are currently looking for a skilled Go Software Engineer to evolve our product. For this role, you can work from Celonis Madrid offices.

The Role:
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of high-quality, scalable software solutions across the stack. You will work on both frontend and backend systems, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance. Your expertise in software architecture, technical leadership, and mentoring will be crucial in guiding the team toward best practices and innovative solutions. You will also collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate business requirements into technical implementations that deliver value to our users.
The work you’ll do:
Design, build, and maintain scalable microservices using Go
Work closely with product managers and cross-functional engineering teams to implement new features and evolve the product based on customer needs
Contribute to architectural decisions that improve reliability, performance, and maintainability
Integrate with third-party APIs and cloud services using standards such as REST, GraphQL, or gRPC
Implement and extend support for process modeling standards such as BPMN
Contribute to DevOps practices and automation pipelines where applicable
Occasionally support customer-facing engineers to understand requirements and guide technical feasibility
The qualifications you need:
- Golang or Java
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture, concurrency and distributed systems
- Exposure to low-code/no-code platforms and workflow automation
- Experience building and consuming APIs (REST, gRPC)
- Understanding of OAuth2, JWT, mTLS and other modern authentication protocols
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker and Kubernetes (nice to have)
- Proficient in spoken and written English (Verbally Fluent)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously in a distributed environment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
