As we scale rapidly across the globe, we’re seeking an experienced, Global Workplace Services Lead with a focus on events & experiences to develop and drive the overarching strategy, design, and execution for events & experiences across our portfolio.

The Real Estate & Workplace Services (REWS) team operates at an extremely fast pace, and we are in search of a leader with a startup mindset and fresh, innovative ideas to help us scale our events & experiences programming effectively. You will be instrumental in transforming our offices into vibrant community hubs through high-impact programming that builds culture and connection. You’ll also build scalable processes to support on-site business meetings & trainings, off-site experiences for large hubs and departments, and executive gatherings. We need a consistent, scalable approach with a local lens to support our unique cultures in each location.

This role involves cultivating key relationships with third-party partners who are crucial to our expansion and growth. You’ll also collaborate internally with Workplace managers, our inclusion team, ERG leaders, executive admins, our training teams, and many more. The position reports directly to the AMER Workplace services leader with dotted lines to our Workplace leader over EMEA and APJ. This is a full-time, in-office role based in San Francisco, CA. Travel to critical hub locations is required to support the business and build the program.

The impact you will have:

  • Global Experience Strategy: Define and execute a multi-region workplace experience strategy that drives office attendance, fosters company culture, and strengthens employee community. Include a comprehensive operational roadmap, and timeline.
  • Event Operations & Execution: Direct and be able to lead and liaise with local workplace specialists and outsourced teams the end-to-end planning and delivery for high-visibility workplace events, including weekly happy hours, monthly activations, business meetings and trainings, executive/board dinners, product launch celebrations, holiday gatherings, and community activations; Command on-site physical events, serving as the primary point of escalation to supervise and manage real-time staffing logistics, and conduct troubleshooting to safeguard attendee safety and experience.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal stakeholders—including Internal Communications, People/HR, Executive Assistants, Corporate Marketing, IT/AV, Security, food and beverage teams, and local workplace leaders and specialists—to ensure seamless event delivery. 
  • Strategic Stakeholder management: Provide exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and diplomatic capabilities to seamlessly collaborate with, influence, and align global cross-functional stakeholders and executive leadership teams.
  • Global Standards & Playbooks: Develop standardized global playbooks, service-level agreements (SLAs), and operational guidelines for local workplace teams to execute events consistently across regions.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee global contracts and relationships with event production vendors, catering teams, and local event suppliers.
  • Budget & Measurement: Manage and build a multi-million-dollar global experience budget. Establish key metrics (NPS or similar, participation rates, cost-per-attendee) to measure event impact, connection, and inform future programming.
  • Technical Fluency: Approach process and procedure with technical competency utilizing event management platforms, cross-functional collaborative tools (such as Cvent, Asana, Slack, Zoom, Epoch and mobile event applications), and AI to drive production timelines and organize project workforces and workflows.
  • Mentor and Coach: Mentor and coach workplace specialists with a focus on events & experiences, as well as outsourced team members to grow in the field, and provide best in class experiences to the Databricks community.

What we look for:

  • 8–12+ years leading workplace experience, experiential events, or hospitality programs within a fast-growing global tech company.
  • Strong background in planning and driving large-scale, high-budget corporate events and multi-city experiential events on a global scale.
  • Be well versed on in-office event execution and constraints.
  • Demonstrated capacity to independently manage complex logistical operations with concurrent execution timelines.
  • Deep experience in event production, including technical/AV integration, spatial planning, and high-touch VIP white-glove service.
  • Great communication skills and the ability to draft robust communications plans for events, programs, and operations.
  • Proven organizational skills, managing multiple work streams and projects
  • Customer focused attitude - ensuring consistently high quality resolutions
  • Experience working with a mix of outsourced partner teams, vendors, and FTEs. 
  • Experience with procurement, contract management and review, and vendor management.
  • Experience with google suite.
  • Experience with fresh service, asana, epoch programs preferred.

Pay Range Transparency

The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents the expected salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks anticipates utilizing the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
