The Global Trade & Compliance Optimization Manager is an individual contributor responsible for driving compliant duty optimization and classification governance across Integra LifeSciences’ global supply chain, with primary focus on transatlantic (US–EU) and EMEA trade flows.

This role leads global HS classification strategy, origin analysis, and tariff impact assessments to reduce landed cost while ensuring full compliance with applicable customs regulations.

The position partners closely with Logistics, Procurement, Engineering, Finance, and regional trade stakeholders to proactively identify and implement trade optimization opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

1️⃣ Global HS Classification Governance

  • Lead and maintain global HS classification for finished products, components, and spare parts.
  • Analyze engineering documentation, technical specifications, and BOMs to determine accurate and defensible classifications.
  • Ensure alignment across key jurisdictions (e.g., EU CN/TARIC and US HTS).
  • Support Binding Tariff Information (BTI) and US binding ruling submissions where appropriate.
  • Conduct classification reviews to identify compliant optimization opportunities.
2️⃣ Transatlantic Duty & Tariff Optimization
  • Identify tariff engineering opportunities within US–EU supply flows.
  • Assess duty impact of sourcing, manufacturing, and distribution changes.
  • Support FTA utilization (e.g., USMCA where relevant, EU FTAs, UK TCA).
  • Contribute to landed cost analysis and scenario modeling related to tariff changes.
  • Partner with Logistics CoE on customs procedure optimization (e.g., inward processing, warehousing where applicable).
3️⃣ Origin & Supply Chain Support
  • Support origin determination and supplier declaration governance.
  • Partner with Procurement and Supply Chain to improve origin data quality.
  • Provide trade impact analysis during new product introductions and site changes.
  • Monitor global tariff and geopolitical developments affecting US–EU flows.
4️⃣ Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure all optimization initiatives align with global customs laws and internal compliance standards.
  • Maintain audit-ready classification and origin documentation.
  • Support customs audits and broker oversight.
  • Drive continuous improvement of trade-related processes within the Logistics CoE.
QualificationsRequired:
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in global trade compliance or customs.
  • Strong hands-on experience with HS classification (EU CN/TARIC and/or US HTS).
  • Working knowledge of origin rules and FTAs impacting US–EU trade.
  • Experience supporting duty savings or tariff mitigation initiatives.
  • Ability to interpret technical product documentation.
  • Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent English required.
Preferred:
  • Experience in medical device, life sciences, or regulated manufacturing.
  • Experience supporting US import flows or working with US customs brokers.
  • Familiarity with SAP or Global Trade Management systems.
  • Customs broker license or equivalent certification
