Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, strategic yet hands-down Global Total Rewards Manager to join our Global People & Culture Team. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the candidate should shape our global compensation, benefits, and rewards strategies while also ensuring smooth operational execution.
The position can be based in Portugal or Belgium and has a hybrid work model.
Role Overview
As the Global Total Rewards Manager, you will be shaping and implementing our global total rewards strategy across multiple regions. This position requires a blend of strategic leadership and hands-on operational expertise, ensuring that our compensation, benefits, and rewards programs are aligned with our culture, values, mission and business objectives, competitive in the market, and compliant with regional regulations. You will also be responsible for maintaining the processes and policies associated with the defined strategy.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Development & Innovative Program Design: Shape a cohesive global rewards strategy encompassing compensation, benefits, and recognition programs, aligned with the business strategy and objectives. Develop long-term strategies to drive employee engagement and enhance the employee value proposition through rewards and recognition. Lead the design and implementation of compensation structures, incentive programs, bonus plans, long-term incentives and employee benefits across diverse geographies.
- Global Rewards Management: oversee and manage the company’s global compensation programs, ensuring consistency and fairness across all regions. Advise senior leadership on compensation and benefits matters. Ensure all global programs are compliant with local regulatory requirements and best practices laws, cost-effective, and aligned with employee needs across markets.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Total Rewards function, ensuring that all programs and initiatives are executed efficiently and effectively. Collaborate with regional or local P&C teams to support local adaptation of global programs while maintaining alignment with overall strategy. Manage budget allocation and processes for salary increases, ensuring alignment with business goals and market standards. Administer year-end compensation cycles, merit increases, bonuses, and incentive payouts across regions.
- Market Analysis: Conduct global benchmarking and market analyses to ensure competitive, attractive reward offerings. Stay ahead of global trends and emerging practices in total rewards to propose innovative solutions that attract and retain top talent.
- Effective Communication & Engagement: Develop clear, transparent communication strategies for all Total Rewards programs to ensure employees understand the value and benefits of their total compensation package. As as a trusted advisor to the Chief People Officer and executive team.
- HR Data Management: Utilize data to support decision-making and optimise total rewards programs across countries as well as to monitor the effectiveness of global total rewards programs, tracking employee satisfaction, retention, and overall program performance. Regularly produce and present reports on compensation trends, program utilization, and ROI to senior management and other key stakeholders.
- Data Reporting and Insights: Use advanced skills in Excel and PowerBI to create, analyse, and present complex data reports. Maintain a strategic, big-picture view while also focusing on details.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with the global an regional P&C teams, Finance, senior leadership and management to drive a consistent approach to rewards and recognition both locally and globally.
Qualifications
- Education: Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Certification in Compensation is preferred.
- Experience: At least 9 years of proven experience in Total Rewards or Compensation & Benefits roles, with at least 5 in a multinational, matrix-based environment. Experience in implementing programs from scratch. Strong background in both strategic design and operational execution of global rewards programs. Experience working with senior leadership to develop and execute long-term total rewards strategies.
- Global Perspective: Strong understanding of global rewards trends with the ability to work effectively across cultures. International experience is definitely a plus.
- Financial acumen: Familiar with financial terminology and experience in working closely with Finance departments to assess, design and optimize Reward programs.
- Project management: strong skills in managing complex global programs and timelines.
- Language Skills: Fluent in English (min. C1); proficiency in other European languages is a plus.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Excel, PowerBI, and data reporting, with a solid ability to create insightful reports and presentations. AI experience is a plus.
