Your role

In this global role, you will drive the sales performance of Traction Motors within key market segments such as Railway, Mobile e-Power and Marine. You will play a central role in shaping sales strategies, setting targets, negotiating sales budgets, and ensuring strong market positioning.

You will work closely with and coach global and local sales teams, supporting them throughout the entire sales process – from strategy and solution design to negotiation, order intake and post-sales follow-up. Reporting directly to the Division Head of Sales, you will act as a key interface between product management, marketing and the sales organization worldwide.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead and support the global and local sales organization to achieve volume, mix and profitability targets
  • Participate in sales strategy discussions and define short- and long-term sales plans together with regional sales teams
  • Analyze customer needs, market trends and competitor offerings to strengthen ABB’s value proposition
  • Drive effective marketing and communication initiatives, including product launches and sales enablement
  • Support complex and demanding sales opportunities by providing technical expertise, solution design and pricing input
  • Conduct technical meetings, product presentations, negotiations and customer training
  • Take ownership of selected customer cases to ensure efficient issue resolution and high customer satisfaction
  • Analyze lost proposals and define actions to improve future competitiveness
  • Perform regular sales performance reviews, forecasts and reporting to support production planning

Your background

  • University degree in Engineering or equivalent technical education
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in international sales within a global organization
  • Proven experience in sales management, business development, account management and cross-selling
  • Strong technical knowledge of electric motors, preferably Traction Motors
  • Solid understanding of contract negotiations, commercial and legal terms, pricing and risk management
  • Market insight within Railway, Mobile e-Power and/or Marine segments
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a customer-focused, proactive and solution-oriented mindset
  • Fluent in spoken and written English; additional languages are considered a plus

The portfolio includes motors, drives, auxiliary converters, battery charger and battery systems for a wide range of applications.
