We are looking for the newly created role of Global Sales Director within Altenar. Someone with an exceptional sales track record, a highly sales trained individual with experience managing sales teams to join one of the most successful B2B sportsbook providers in the world. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of sales objectives, deliverables, work closely with the business executives and have clear career progression planning to

higher positions given achievements of clear, measurable KPIs.

Key Responsibilities

  • A player-manager role, leading from the front, handling and closing deals whilst steering a global team of senior outbound enterprise sales staff and in-bound sales specialists to even higher success levels at Altenar.
  • Align with the C-Level and Commercial Director on yearly and quarterly KPIs for the sales team and ensure these are measurable, achievable or stretch. Form a culture that thrives on the transparency of these KPIs.
  • Own the global sales target for new business; help drive the formation and execution of the regional business development strategies to obtain high value clients.
  • You have the reins; form a sales organisational structure that suits the needs you perceive inside the business for greater success.
  • Provide 121s to your sales staff; coaching is a critical component of the role to implement. You should enjoy coaching sales staff and helping them with their pipeline progress and sales cycles. This may include providing sales training in your preferred enterprise selling techniques.
  • Align with the Head of Sales Operations to ensure that the sales team are collaborating with other departments in the most efficient way possible across product, technology, legal, marketing and beyond.
  • Ensure the same teams are aligned in motivation; steering the commission scheme in-line with the right behaviors, the right KPIs and ensuring good housekeeping such as CRM and pipeline management.
  • Represent the organisation in media, expos and various important meetings; it’s a role that will require significant travel.

Skills & Experience

  • A multi-year proven track record of successful sales in long sales cycles above 6-12 months and beyond within iGaming. This should include knowing the relevant ecosystem around sportsbooks; data providers and beyond.
  • Highly sales trained, demonstrating knowledge of whatever enterprise selling methodology that suits you best (i.e. MEDDIC, Challenger Sales).
  • A career not completely in iGaming preferred, ideally exposure to an enterprise selling business or highly trained sales profession outside iGaming.
  • Proven ability as a player-manager, happy to lead from the front.
  • Proven experience negotiating complex contracts.
  • Enjoy the product and ready to learn about the product deeply.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner in all scenarios internally, to prospects, to media and be an ambassador for Altenar.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively across different jurisdictions and cultures.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Preferably located in Malta or alternatively someone prepared to relocate or be able to travel to Malta frequently.

Skills Required

  • Multi-year proven track record selling into long enterprise sales cycles (6-12+ months) within iGaming or equivalent
  • Highly trained in enterprise selling methodologies (e.g., MEDDIC, Challenger Sales)
  • Proven player-manager experience leading and coaching senior sales teams
  • Proven experience negotiating complex contracts
  • Experience with CRM and pipeline management
  • Ability to set, align and report measurable sales KPIs with C-level stakeholders
  • Strong communication and public representation skills (media, expos, executive meetings)
  • Ability to build relationships and work across different jurisdictions and cultures
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently
  • Preferably located in Malta or prepared to relocate / travel to Malta frequently
  • Exposure to enterprise selling or sales training outside iGaming
