The Role
Owns regulatory content for sustainability and financial reporting software. Translates ISSB, GRI, CSRD/ESRS, and related frameworks into product requirements, structured datasets, mappings, and content roadmaps. Collaborates with product managers, engineers, and UX designers to balance regulatory accuracy, usability, technical feasibility, and commercial impact. Monitors regulatory developments and supports scalable, user-centered reporting solutions.
Summary Generated by Built In
As a Global Reporting Expert (m/f/x) in our Product Content Team, you will turn evolving reporting regulations into practical, scalable content for our software solutions, making compliant reporting more efficient, reliable, and manageable for companies worldwide.
You know your way around ISSB, GRI, and CSRD/ESRS, and understand the common patterns across reporting standards – spotting overlaps, gaps, and interoperability points to turn individual regulations into standardized, reusable content. Ideally, you also bring experience in financial reporting, so you can bridge the gap to sustainability reporting and see where both worlds connect and diverge.
This is an opportunity to combine deep reporting expertise with structured, tech-driven content work. As part of the Product Content Team, you’ll help drive the regulatory and content strategy that brings maximum value to our solutions overall, with real ownership over how that expertise translates into product.
This position is based in Mannheim, Germany. We embrace a hybrid work model with three in-office days per week, offering a mix of face-to-face collaboration and remote flexibility.
Your Responsibilities
- Take ownership of regulatory content across our product suite, translating complex international frameworks and reporting standards into clear product requirements and content specifications.
- Spot overlaps, gaps, and interoperability points between global reporting frameworks and communicate implications to product and engineering teams.
- Monitor the evolving regulatory landscape — new directives, framework updates, and political developments — and translate regulatory change into a prioritized content roadmap.
- Work closely with product managers, engineers, and UX designers to ensure content is implemented well and genuinely usable for the professionals preparing reports.
- Maintain large, structured datasets and mappings that document content requirements, regulatory connections, and implementation logic.
- Balance regulatory rigor, user usability, technical feasibility, and commercial impact in your content and prioritization decisions.
Your Experience
- 4 years of experience in international non-financial and ideally financial reporting. You know how both worlds connect and where they differ.
- Solid working knowledge of global frameworks such as ISSB, GRI, and CSRD/ESRS. You understand their content, structure, and evolution, and can identify connections and conflicts between them.
- Ideally some experience with emissions and carbon accounting topics, including corporate carbon footprint (CCF), Scope 1–3 emissions, and GHG Protocol standards.
- Tech affinity and genuine comfort collaborating with product and engineering teams. You understand how regulatory content becomes software features and can discuss technical trade-offs.
- A structured, organized working style with strong prioritization discipline. You manage multiple complex topics simultaneously and confidently decide what matters most when regulatory change is constant.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large, structured datasets, requirement mappings, and regulatory catalogs.
- A user-centered perspective. You think from the viewpoint of report preparers and compliance professionals, asking whether content is clear, accessible, and genuinely useful in practice.
- Fluency in German; English proficiency at C1 level or higher.
Nice to Have
- Experience with or knowledge of software products in the sustainability reporting space.
- Familiarity with licensing processes and frameworks, including obtaining and managing rights to use standards and regulatory content.
