Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Proposal Specialist for Separation equipment to join our team at FLSmidth Private Limited. You will be responsible for preparing and presenting accurate and competitive technical and commercial proposals for capital projects in the mining and cement industries globally.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for managing the end-to-end proposal development process for complex spare parts and modernization (Upgrades & Retrofits) projects for Separation Equipment (Thickening and Flotation). This role ensures that proposals are technically accurate, commercially sound, and submitted on time. The Proposal Specialist acts as a key interface between sales, engineering, sourcing, and execution teams, supporting global and regional needs with a focus on standardization, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Lead the preparation of technical-commercial proposals for complex spare parts and modernization projects (U&R), based on customer RFQs, specifications, and site conditions, with input from site account managers and product specialists.
Review customer requirements and understand scope elements.
Coordinate with Engineering, Sourcing, Planning, and Sales to collect inputs for scope, cost, and lead times.
Interpret engineering drawings, GA layouts and technical documents.
Ensure proposals are submitted on time, aligned with internal approval processes and margin targets.
Use standardized proposal templates, pricing formats, and scope documentation for consistency across regions.
Support Sales and Regional teams during customer interactions, including technical clarifications and deviation handling.
Ensure all proposal documents are properly stored, version-controlled, and handed over to execution teams post-award.
Track and report proposal KPIs including turnaround time, success rate, and accuracy, as sold vs delivered.
Participate in improvement initiatives to streamline the proposal process, reduce cycle time, and increase hit rate, including maintaining product specific database for quick budget price development.
Ensure compliance with company guidelines, legal standards, and approval protocols in all proposal activities.
Job Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Mining, or similar).
* Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in proposal preparation or sales engineering roles, preferably within the mining or cement industry.
* Solid understanding of engineering processes, equipment, and solutions used in heavy industry.
* Proven ability to analyze complex requirements and develop clear and concise technical solutions.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in a global environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with project planning tools.
* Willingness to travel internationally as required.
