This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report minimum three times per week at Warren, MI or any plant locations (Wentzville, MO, Arlington, TX, Springhill, TN, or Lansing, MI). Role requires 25-50% travel
The Role
This role is critical for improving the quality of GM products including reducing warranty and improving E-FTQ by preventing defects through software design and manufacturing process development. This role will have you be responsible for improving the E-FTQ at GM plants by leading root causing E-FTQ faults activities, oversee implementation of both short-term containments and longer term fixes, and reading across issues to all GM sites.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with a team of highly technical Engineers to monitor all plant EFTQ data
- Provide weekly reports on issues and metrics to leadership
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product engineering and manufacturing sites
- Identify root cause, corrective action, and track issues with Task, Owner, and timing to resolution.
- Provide plant comparison data and read across actionable items.
- Understand top issues plants are experiencing and read across to future programs to drive early intervention.
- Work with plant teams to remove roadblocks impacting EFTQ and thruput issues.
- Be the Voice of the Global Manufacturing Electrical and SDV team (formerly GEST)
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- 2+ years plant-level manufacturing experience
- Experience with vehicle end-of-line process
- Familiarity with vehicle electrical architecture (i.e., ISO 14229, Cybersecurity, Ethernet).
- Experience working with group/team leaders or other production level team members
- Bachelors of Engineering or equivalent experience
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience with GM IT systems (i.e. GSIP, GEPICS, MERS, PRTS, ECM).
- Understanding of GM quality systems and GM vehicle development process.
- Electrical Engineering experience.
- Experience with GM Software Systems (SPR, VCAM, Deviator).
- Experience with Capturing Data (VSPY, DPS, VVT).
- Effective communication; ability to identify issues and find solutions
- Self-motivation and the ability to work in a diverse environment
