Role overview:
The role of the Tactical Research Group (TRG) analyst based in India is a multifaceted role critical in enhancing the visibility and impact of GIR’s proprietary research. The analyst will be responsible for strategically packaging and distributing research insights to institutional clients, managing global divisional projects, fulfilling quantitative screening requests, and working on bottom-up equity research reports.
Job Responsibilities:
Research Merchandising & Client Engagement:
- Publish daily and weekly market commentaries aimed at strategically packaging and presenting equity research content across various formats (e.g., reports, summaries, presentations, webinars) to maximize client consumption and perceived value.
- Serve as a liaison between institutional sales and research analyst teams
- Assist in organizing and promoting analyst webinars, client calls, and podcasts.
Bottom-Up Equity Research Publications
- Combine the macro and the micro: analyzing fundamental datasets of US and European equity markets in the context of the broader macro picture, in order to form a market and thematic view
- Manage and structure financial data in a presentable form. This involves maintaining large, and often complex, data sets.
- Respond to regular and ad hoc data/analysis requests from external and internal clients (sales and trading, other research teams)
Global Divisional Projects:
- Assist in delivering on critical global projects for senior management in the division focused on building client connectivity and impact
- Provide senior management with critical metrics and insightful analysis of divisional performance, research impact, and client engagement data.
Basic Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in economics, finance, accounting, engineering or related field or Chartered Accountancy/CFA.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in financial services; prior investment research experience would be an added advantage
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound knowledge of concepts in Financial management and Accounting and excellent Excel skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Candidate must be proactive, enthusiastic and team oriented
- Experience with a coding language (e.g. Python) will be preferred
- Ability to prioritize and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Accuracy and attention to detail
