Job Description

Global HR Business Partner -Fully Onsite Opportunity

Job Description

As part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific team, you’ll discover meaningful work that makes a positive impact on a global scale. Join our colleagues in bringing our Mission to life every day: enabling our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. We provide our global teams with the resources they need to achieve their career goals while helping take science a step beyond—developing solutions for some of the world’s toughest challenges, from protecting the environment and ensuring food safety to helping find cures for cancer.

Description

As a Global HR Business Partner (Senior HR Manager) at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you’ll serve as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to executive leaders across the Clinical Development Services Division (CDSD), part of the Clinical Research Group (CRG). You’ll help translate business strategy into people priorities and organizational actions that build capability, strengthen performance and deliver business results.

This role has global responsibility for the Oversight Directors talent segment across our therapeutic business units and our Functional Service Provider (FSP) business. You’ll work closely with executive and senior leaders to understand their goals and operating challenges, offer an informed HR perspective, and guide decisions on organization, leadership and talent. You’ll influence through sound judgment, business insight and a practical understanding of how people and organizational choices affect results.

As a true business partner, you’ll consult with leaders on complex and sometimes ambiguous issues, frame options and tradeoffs, and recommend approaches that address both immediate needs and longer-term business priorities. You’ll constructively challenge assumptions when appropriate, help leaders anticipate talent and organizational risks, and guide them through decisions with clarity and accountability.

You’ll lead and connect HR work across organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, talent and succession, leadership development, performance, employee engagement, compensation, employee relations and change management. You’ll use workforce data and business context to identify trends, surface risks and opportunities, and turn insights into focused actions. You’ll also help leaders build strong, inclusive teams and a culture grounded in Thermo Fisher Scientific’s 4i values: Integrity, Intensity, Innovation and Involvement.

Working across a global matrix, you’ll collaborate with HR colleagues and business partners to deliver consistent, effective solutions while adapting to local requirements and business needs. You’ll advise leaders on HR policies, processes and relevant employment practices, and help implement enterprise initiatives in ways that support CDSD’s strategy and operating model.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree and at least 6 years of progressive HR experience, or a bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in global, matrixed organizations
  • Preferred fields of study: Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
  • Experience partnering with senior and executive-level leaders on business, organizational and talent priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a trusted HR business partner: consulting, advising, influencing and guiding leaders through complex decisions
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to connect people strategy to business strategy, operating needs and measurable outcomes
  • Experience leading or advising on organizational design, workforce planning, organizational change and development
  • Expertise in talent management, succession planning, leadership development, performance management, compensation and employee relations
  • Ability to use workforce data and analytics to identify trends, develop insights and inform leadership decisions
  • Strong executive presence, communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex issues and recommendations clearly
  • Excellent relationship-building, consulting, negotiation and influencing capabilities across levels, functions and geographies
  • Sound judgment, discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive matters
  • Ability to make decisions with incomplete information, manage competing priorities and adapt to change
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to lead multiple complex initiatives across a global matrix
  • Proficiency with HR systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of relevant employment laws and regulations; experience partnering with works councils or unions where applicable
  • Fluency in English required; additional language skills valued for international roles
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% as needed
