About This Role

Futu is entering an accelerated globalization phase — from Hong Kong to Singapore, the US, Australia, Japan, and Malaysia, we are evolving from a "HK broker going global" into a fintech brand genuinely recognized by mainstream markets worldwide.

Hong Kong is Futu's home base and the strategic anchor of our global brand. As a fintech company founded in Hong Kong, Futu has our largest user base and deepest market roots here, and we also face the most complex stakeholder landscape — regulators, financial media, the investor community, industry associations, and the general public. This role is not just about managing global PR; you will also personally own the Hong Kong market end-to-end: building thought leadership in the global financial media ecosystem while shaping Futu's corporate citizenship and policy influence locally.

You will work closely with the Global Brand, Social Media, and local marketing & comms teams to advance our brand proposition worldwide.

Core Responsibilities

1. Global Voice & Thought Leadership

  • Develop and execute the global PR communications strategy, systematically increasing Futu/moomoo's media presence and brand awareness in core markets including North America, Southeast Asia, and Australia/New Zealand;
  • Build a company-wide thought leadership system: proactively plan and pitch in-depth features, op-eds, and industry commentary around retail investing trends, fintech, AI & investing, and global brokerage — making Futu/moomoo the "default source" when media covers these topics;
  • Build an executive and spokesperson matrix: develop annual media exposure plans for the CEO, CFO, and key business leaders; proactively engage top-tier global financial and tech media including Bloomberg, Reuters, CNBC, the Financial Times, and WSJ to establish ongoing, in-depth editorial relationships;
  • Establish a global media resource database with tiered management, oversee annual partnership planning and negotiation with global media, and ensure quality and frequency of media coverage across core markets.

2. Proactive PR & Storytelling

  • Shift from "reactive response" to "proactive programming": plan and execute at least 4 globally or regionally influential PR campaigns/events per year, including but not limited to market entry launches, major product milestones, industry report releases, and user story series;
  • Build a company-level "story bank": dig deep into Futu/moomoo's product innovation, user growth, technology capabilities, and globalization journey to transform business facts into stories media want to cover;
  • Own the planning and quality control of core PR content — press releases, in-depth feature pitches, executive bylines, industry reports, and media briefings — ensuring both newsworthiness and brand consistency;
  • Collaborate with Brand and Social Media teams to convert PR-earned media endorsements and content assets into multi-channel materials, achieving "one story, amplified everywhere."

3. Crisis Management & Reputation Defense

  • Build and continuously optimize a global media monitoring and crisis management system covering all operating markets, with standardized SOPs from early warning and assessment to decision-making and external response;
  • Serve as the core PR decision-maker during crises — capable of quickly assessing situations under pressure, defining communication strategies, aligning external messaging, and coordinating Legal, Compliance, and Business teams for a unified response;
  • Proactively scan risk topics and prepare contingency plans — regulatory policy changes, market volatility, competitor moves, and public sentiment — with pre-prepared communication playbooks and message reserves;
  • Establish a proactive intervention and recovery mechanism for negative coverage: respond professionally to inaccurate reporting, and for genuine issues, drive internal remediation and convert them into trust-rebuilding opportunities.

4. Hong Kong Market: Corporate Affairs & CSR

Hong Kong is Futu's home turf and the source of our global brand narrative. This module is your direct responsibility — not outsourced.

  • Corporate Affairs:
  • Represent the company at industry forums, regulatory consultations, and industry standard-setting initiatives, elevating Futu's policy influence in Hong Kong's fintech sector;
  • Manage the PR dimension of investor relations communications in Hong Kong (in coordination with the IR team), including earnings releases and analyst briefings.
  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR):
  • Develop and execute Futu Hong Kong's CSR strategy, focusing on financial literacy, investor protection, tech for good, and community impact — building a recognizable corporate citizenship profile;
  • Plan and deliver flagship CSR initiatives (e.g., investor education programs, youth fintech talent development, community outreach) and amplify social impact through PR communications;
  • Establish a CSR measurement framework that converts social value into brand equity, improving Futu's goodwill and trust in Hong Kong society;
  • Hong Kong Local Media & Brand Building:
  • Deepen engagement with Hong Kong's financial media ecosystem (Hong Kong Economic Journal, Hong Kong Economic Times, Ming Pao, HK01, now Business News, Cable Finance, etc.) and build deep editorial relationships;
  • Plan Hong Kong-based brand PR events, leveraging Hong Kong's position as an international financial center to export local success stories into the global brand narrative.

5. Global Team & Regional Collaboration

  • Build, develop, and performance-manage the global PR team, creating a high-performing unit with strong cross-cultural collaboration capabilities;
  • Establish efficient collaboration mechanisms between HQ PR and regional PR teams (Singapore, US, Australia, etc.), aligning global communications cadence with localized execution;
  • Drive post-campaign reviews and methodology codification of regional success cases, replicating effective PR playbooks across markets to avoid redundant trial and error;
  • Manage the annual PR budget and external vendors (PR agencies, media monitoring services, event agencies), ensuring strong ROI.

*This role is to be based in Shenzhen, with the option to be based in Hong Kong (Negotiable) with travel arrangement.
