About the Role:
Global Specialties is an exciting new division within Everest Reinsurance, providing strategic direction and underwriting expertise across the entire Reinsurance Division. Our International team specialises in the following classes of business:
- Engineering and Onshore Energy
- Aviation
- Marine
- Cyber
- Parametric Solutions
We are seeking a talented and culturally aligned individual to join us as our Global Head of Engineering.
The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting complex Treaty Engineering and Onshore Energy risks, developing innovative reinsurance solutions, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and brokers. This role is crucial for the profitable development and maintenance of our high-profile, market-leading Engineering and Onshore Energy Treaty portfolio. We are open to applicants from senior reinsurance underwriting and broking backgrounds, in addition to individuals from senior Engineering underwriting roles within insurance seeking a move into reinsurance.

Key Accountabilities
Support the expansion of Global Specialties division in line with business plans and underwriting strategy, whilst maintaining a focus on bottom line underwriting profit and delivery of Everest internal plans
- Accountability for the strategic direction and management of the Engineering and Onshore Energy portfolio
- Maintain a focus on building and strengthening Everest’s relationships with Clients and Brokers
- Work closely with the rest of the Global Specialties team to promote the division
- Liaise with other Everest business units where required
- Develop and train underwriters in the team
- Manage a portfolio of renewal business, including underwriting & pricing, claims, referral, processing, broker, and client relationship aspects; and servicing any new business request in the same way.
- Represent Everest at meetings and conferences
- To liaise with the Claims, Finance and Actuarial teams where necessary
- Business travel as required to support the above objectives, and the appropriate management of T&E expenses.
Requirements:
- Strong experience in Engineering and Onshore Energy
- Strong numeracy and Excel skills
- Excellent broker and client relationships
- Excellent marketing skills are required to develop and maintain relationships with clients and brokers.
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills and the ability to flourish in a collaborative environment.
- Self-motivated and independent whilst maintaining underwriting discipline to achieve strategic objectives.
- Ability to stay organised within a fast paced, team orientated and high intensity work environment with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks.
- Educated to degree level.
