Global Head of Business & Product Development – Maersk Project Logistics | Copenhagen, Denmark

Drive growth. Shape the product. Define how complex logistics solutions scale globally.

At Maersk, our ambition is clear: to become the global integrator of logistics.

Delivering on that ambition in Project Logistics means more than executing complex cargo movements - it requires a clear growth agenda, a compelling product proposition, disciplined commercial governance, and solutions that are scalable, profitable, and relevant to customers across industries and geographies.

To lead this agenda globally, we are looking for a Global Head of Business & Product Development for Maersk Project Logistics (MPL).

This is a senior leadership role at the centre of MPL’s growth and product strategy, accountable for driving top-line performance, shaping the MPL value proposition, and ensuring commercial priorities and product development are tightly connected.

This role sits at the intersection of growth, strategy, product ownership, and execution. You will set direction for where MPL grows, how we go to market, how we engage customers, and how the product evolves to meet future demand.

The Role

As Global Head of Business & Product Development, you will own the global growth agenda for Maersk Project Logistics. You will define the commercial strategy, guide regional and area sales focus, oversee pipeline performance, and ensure delivery of annual revenue, volume, and gross profit targets.

At the same time, you will act as the global owner of the MPL product proposition - defining the product strategy, roadmap, development priorities, and lifecycle decisions. This includes shaping new solutions, optimising existing offerings, integrating customer feedback, and ensuring MPL remains competitive, differentiated, and commercially scalable.

This is not a role focused on growth in isolation. It is about connecting market opportunity, customer needs, product capability, and sales execution into one clear global agenda.

You will work closely with regional leadership, Centre Sales, Product Owners, commercial teams, marketing, and senior stakeholders across Maersk to ensure MPL is positioned for sustainable, profitable growth.

What You Will Lead

Global Growth & Commercial Strategy

  • Define and lead the global MPL growth strategy across verticals, geographies, and customer segments as part of the Product Go-To-Market plan.
  • Provide clear market input on TAM, growth opportunities, and prioritisation to guide Sales on where to focus.
  • Set direction for SSS and NSS targets, ensuring alignment between commercial ambition and regional execution.
  • Shape the global customer engagement model in close partnership with Centre Sales and regional commercial teams.
  • Lead commercial decision-making, LTA processes, and annual sales target-setting in line with governance and GAM requirements.

Revenue, Pipeline & Performance Management

  • Ensure delivery of budgeted gross profit through structured pipeline oversight, disciplined performance management, and regional growth plans.
  • Monitor and challenge regional pipeline inflow, conversion, and win rates in partnership with regions and Area Sales teams.
  • Drive commercial focus and accountability across the MPL growth agenda, ensuring opportunities are prioritised, qualified, and progressed effectively.
  • Use market, customer, pricing, and competitor insights to inform pipeline strategy, commercial decisions, and product direction.

Product Ownership & Development

  • Own the MPL value proposition, ensuring it is clearly defined, differentiated, commercially relevant, and aligned to customer needs.
  • Define and manage the global MPL product strategy, roadmap, lifecycle, and prioritisation of development initiatives.
  • Set clear product requirements and acceptance criteria across stakeholders, ensuring strong alignment between customer needs, operational capability, and commercial goals.
  • Integrate customer feedback, market insight, and sales input into product development and optimisation.
  • Manage and continuously improve the product post-launch, including decisions around enhancement, scaling, optimisation, or discontinuation.

Sales Enablement & Go-To-Market Excellence

  • Build and maintain high-quality sales materials, training content, and enablement tools in collaboration with product and marketing teams.
  • Ensure sales teams understand the MPL proposition, target customers, commercial priorities, and value drivers.
  • Support consistent deployment of the LTA process across regions, driving clarity, governance, and disciplined execution.
  • Partner with marketing to ensure MPL’s positioning, messaging, and customer-facing materials reflect the product strategy and growth priorities.

People, Organisation & Leadership

  • Build, lead, and develop the global MPL business development organisation.
  • Create a high-performing team culture focused on commercial impact, customer relevance, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Develop capability across the organisation to support future growth, stronger customer engagement, and deeper product expertise.
  • Act as a senior voice for MPL business development and product strategy across the Maersk matrix.

Stakeholder & Matrix Leadership

  • Partner closely with regional MPL leaders, Centre Sales, Area Sales, Product Owners, Marketing, Finance, and senior leadership teams.
  • Ensure commercial requirements, customer insights, and market opportunities actively shape the MPL product roadmap.
  • Align stakeholders behind clear priorities, practical execution plans, and measurable growth outcomes.
  • Influence across a complex global matrix, balancing strategic direction with pragmatic market execution.

Accountabilities

  • Global MPL growth strategy and Product Go-To-Market direction
  • Delivery of annual revenue, volume, and gross profit targets
  • Regional pipeline performance, inflow, conversion, and win-rate management
  • MPL value proposition, product strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle ownership
  • Customer, market, competitor, and pricing insight consolidation
  • LTA deployment, sales enablement, and commercial governance
  • A capable, commercially focused, and future-ready business development organisation

What We’re Looking For

  • Senior commercial, business development, or product leadership experience in Project Logistics, complex logistics, supply chain, or industrial services.
  • Proven success defining growth strategies and delivering commercial performance across regions, markets, or global networks.
  • Strong understanding of product management, value proposition development, lifecycle management, and go-to-market execution.
  • Experience translating market opportunities and customer needs into scalable, profitable product and commercial solutions.
  • Strong commercial judgement, with the ability to manage pipeline performance, sales targets, pricing dynamics, and growth priorities.
  • Credibility with senior stakeholders and experience influencing across complex matrix organisations.
  • Analytical, structured, and data-led approach to decision-making and performance management.
  • A strategic mindset combined with the ability to drive practical execution through teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and align diverse stakeholders around a clear direction.
  • 5 days a week onsite presence, with global travel expected
