Global FinOps Environment ManagerJob Summary:
We are seeking a Global FinOps Environment Manager to oversee and optimize our cloud-hosted environments across multiple regions. This role will be responsible for managing the lifecycle of cloud environments, developing upgrade plans, optimizing costs, and defining best practices for provisioning and maintaining environments. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with enterprise IT, DevOps, engineering, and release management teams to ensure a scalable, cost-effective, and secure cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Environment Management: Oversee all cloud-hosted environments globally, ensuring stability, scalability, and security.
- Upgrade & Maintenance Planning: Develop and execute upgrade strategies, coordinating with engineering, enterprise IT, DevOps and release management teams to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with business needs.
- Cost Optimization: Monitor and manage cloud infrastructure costs, working closely with finance and engineering to drive efficiency and optimize spend.
- Standard Operating Procedures: Establish best practices for requesting, provisioning, and decommissioning environments, ensuring consistency across all regions.
- Automation & Efficiency: Identify opportunities for automation in environment management to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.
- Compliance & Security: Ensure all environments adhere to security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary point of contact for environment-related requests, collaborating with enterprise IT, DevOps, engineering, and release management to align infrastructure capabilities with business objectives.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Implement and maintain monitoring tools to track environment performance, availability, and cost trends, providing regular reports to leadership.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: 7+ years in cloud infrastructure management, environment management, release management or a related field.
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Cost Management: Experience with cloud cost optimization tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, FinOps practices).
- Process Development: Strong background in building and implementing SOPs for cloud environments.
- Automation & DevOps: Familiarity with Continuous Integration I /Continuous Deployment pipelines, scripting, and infrastructure automation.
- Security & Compliance: Understanding of cloud security best practices and regulatory frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, etc.).
- Stakeholder Management: Excellent ability to engage and collaborate with enterprise IT, DevOps, engineering, and release management teams, ensuring alignment across functions.
- Communication & Leadership: Ability to influence decisions, communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and drive initiatives at a global scale.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.
- Experience working in a large-scale, globally distributed technology organization.
- Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
