Job Description
Micron is seeking an experienced Energy Procurement Manager to join its Global Energy Procurement team, with primary responsibility for Singapore and potential support across APAC.
This critical and highly impactful role will lead energy strategy for some of the largest industrial loads in the world, influencing billions of dollars in electricity spend and infrastructure investments globally.
You will also lead development and execution of integrated energy sourcing across electricity and natural gas, covering both conventional and carbon-free energy solutions.
You will play a critical role in:
- Optimizing total energy cost
- Ensuring supply reliability and resilience
- Advancing Micron's carbon-free energy goals
This includes navigating Singapore's evolving regulatory landscape and green power markets, while delivering innovative sourcing solutions and building strategic external partnerships.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute energy sourcing strategies across power, carbon free electricity, and gas portfolios, with primary focus on Singapore and potential support across APAC
- Develop and drive regulatory and policy strategies to enhance cost competitiveness, improve market access and energy resiliency across regulated and deregulated markets.
- Lead end-to-end sourcing processes: market analysis, tendering, negotiation, contracting, and supplier management
- Manage external relationships with utilities, regulators, developers, retailers, consultants, and relevant stakeholders to support sourcing initiatives and market engagement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sustainability, Government Affairs, Facilities, Legal, Finance, and other internal stakeholders to execute projects and deliver strategic outcomes.
- Integrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.
- Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one's scope of work.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, economics, finance, or related field
- 2 + years' of relevant experience in energy procurement, energy development, utilities or energy markets
- Demonstrated expertise in energy procurement, contract negotiation, utility operations, regulatory policy, and/or strategies for reducing utility costs.
- Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and role - appropriate AI literacy to use AI - enabled tools responsibly and effectively for research, analysis, content creation, problem - solving, operational tasks, and achieving business outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or master's degree in business, economics, engineering, finance or related field
- 5 + years of experience in energy markets, energy procurement, carbon free energy development, energy contract negotiation
- Knowledge of Singapore energy markets, carbon free energy market, policies & regulatory framework
- Good knowledge of energy financial constructs including VPPAs, PPAs, and gas procurement
