Job Description:

Position Summary

The Global Director of Network Services is responsible for the strategic direction, architecture, and operational excellence of the enterprise network, supporting cloud environments, manufacturing facilities, engineering centers, and corporate offices worldwide.  This role will drive the transformation of the network environment, delivering secure, resilient, and high-performance connectivity across all sites to support plant floor operations, real-time data integration, and smart manufacturing initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in enterprise networking, experience in industrial and operational technology (OT) environments, and strong leadership to modernize, secure, and optimize our global network footprint.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership:
    Develop and execute the global network strategy, aligned with business objectives, IT modernization, cybersecurity standards, digital transformation, and advanced manufacturing initiatives, including IIoT and Industry 4.0.
  • Team Management & Development:
    Lead and develop a high-performing team of internal staff and strategic partners. Drive accountability, technical excellence, and collaboration across global and regional teams. Promote a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Manufacturing & Plant Connectivity:
    Ensure high-performance, resilient network connectivity for manufacturing sites, including integration with OT systems, SCADA, MES, and automated equipment. Drive consistent network standards across facilities.
  • Modernization & Architecture:
    Lead the design and deployment of modern networking technologies including SD-WAN, segmentation, Zero Trust, SASE, and cloud connectivity. Build scalable, secure, and high-availability architectures for global operations.
  • Operations & Service Delivery:
    Ensure 24/7 operational support of WAN, LAN, WLAN, VPN, and voice services. Drive improvements in uptime, performance, capacity, SLAs, and user experience across all locations.
  • Vendor & Partner Management:
    Manage key network service providers and technology vendors, ensuring performance, cost-effectiveness, and strategic alignment.
  • Security & Compliance:
    Partner closely with Cybersecurity and Compliance teams to enforce policies, harden infrastructure, and support audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Cost Management & Optimization:
    Lead cost-effective initiatives and uncover savings opportunities through consolidation, process optimization, and strategic sourcing.
  • M&A and Integration Support:
    Lead network due diligence and integration planning for acquisitions, divestitures, and new site builds or expansions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in network engineering and infrastructure management, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Strong expertise in enterprise and industrial networking, including SD-WAN, MPLS, VLAN/VXLAN, DNS/DHCP/IPAM, firewalling, wireless, and cloud connectivity and industrial protocols.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and experience partnering with Information Security.
  • Proven experience designing and operating networks in industrial environments with high uptime requirements.
  • Familiarity with plant floor systems including MES, SCADA, PLCs, and IoT gateways.
  • Experience managing global service delivery models, including managed services and offshore resources.
  • Strong understanding of network security and compliance standards relevant to manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated success leading network transformation initiatives in large, complex organizations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

Preferred Certifications

  • Cisco CCNP/CCIE
  • Industrial Networking Certification (e.g., Cisco Industrial Ethernet, Rockwell)
  • AWS/GCP/OCI/Azure Networking Specialty
  • ITIL Foundation or higher
  • PMP (a plus)
