Operation Smile seeks a strategic, collaborative, and forward-thinking Global Brand Director to serve as a key partner to the VP, Global Brand & Marketing. The role combines brand leadership, stakeholder engagement, integrated marketing, operational excellence, and agency account management to strengthen brand consistency, organizational alignment, and audience engagement across the global network.

The ideal candidate thrives in an evolving global organization, brings fresh thinking, challenges established ways of working, and continuously improves how global marketing is planned, delivered, and measured. This individual will help shape not only the organization's brand but also the systems, governance, and planning disciplines that enable a high-performing global marketing function.

Essential Functions:

Brand Strategy & Governance

  • Champion and protect Operation Smile's global brand through consistent application of visual identity, messaging, positioning, and tone of voice.
  • Lead the evolution of the organization's brand governance framework to ensure consistency across all markets, audiences, and touchpoints.
  • Evaluate brand standards and recommend enhancements that strengthen brand relevance, differentiation, and impact.
  • Educate and influence stakeholders on the value of strong brand governance while driving adoption and alignment across the global network.

Stakeholder & Account Leadership

  • Serve as the primary lead between the Global Brand & Marketing function and key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Build trusted partnerships by translating strategic priorities into integrated marketing initiatives, communication, and engagement strategies.
  • Provide strategic counsel to senior leaders and stakeholders on brand, marketing, communications, and engagement strategies.
  • Align competing priorities and facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure organizational objectives and stakeholder needs are effectively balanced.

Integrated Marketing & Campaign Leadership

  • Lead planning and execution of integrated marketing campaigns supporting awareness, fundraising, thought leadership, annual reporting, and organizational communications.
  • Drive annual and quarterly marketing planning cycles through an integrated global marketing calendar that aligns organizational priorities, fundraising objectives, country activity plans, and key external events.
  • Oversee multi-channel campaign execution using audience-centered approaches and measurable performance indicators. Analyze campaign results and apply insights to optimize future initiatives and marketing effectiveness.

Marketing Operations & Optimization

  • Design, implement, and optimize marketing planning, briefing, workflow, project management, and prioritization process.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline marketing operations, increase efficiency, and strengthen organizational marketing capabilities.
  • Introduce industry best practices and foster a culture of innovation, optimization, and excellence within the Global Brand and Marketing function. external marketing, brand, digital, and agency best practices that strengthen organizational capabilities.

Global Network Engagement

  • Develop tools, templates, resources, and training that enable consistent implementation of global marketing and brand standards.
  • Foster collaboration across the entire organization; reinforcing a One Organization, One Voice approach.
  • Balance global brand consistency with appropriate flexibility for local market relevance and effectiveness.
  • Support country teams in adopting more strategic, effective, efficient marketing approaches.

  • Increase stakeholder satisfaction through trusted partnerships, strategic collaboration, and responsive account leadership.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in brand management, marketing, communications, or agency environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading integrated marketing initiatives and managing complex, cross-functional stakeholder environments within global organizations.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders, build strategic partnerships, and drive organizational alignment across diverse teams and regions.
  • Experience overseeing agency partnerships, marketing operations, and integrated planning processes that deliver measurable business results.

 

Compensation:

Operation Smile is committed to pay transparency. The anticipated salary range for this position is - $80,000 to $100,000 - which may vary slightly based on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, and geographic location.

Skills Required
