Communications and Documentation Intern responsible for documenting Operation Smile Ethiopia’s surgical, medical education, training, and cleft-care programs. Duties include gathering stories, photos, and videos; producing bulletins, updates, social media messages, and short videos; coordinating with program teams and hospitals; and sharing program successes with local and regional communications teams.

Leads regional financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, compliance, risk management, audits, procurement, and operational finance across multiple countries. Oversees accounting controls, reconciliations, cash flow, cost analysis, asset management, and donor reporting. Provides financial guidance, training, and mentorship to country teams while supporting strategic initiatives, business planning, and continuous operational improvement in a multicultural nonprofit environment.

Leads Operation Smile’s multichannel fundraising strategy across direct mail, digital, DRTV, SMS, telemarketing, and emerging channels. Owns donor growth, retention, sustainer and mid-level giving programs, revenue forecasting, ROI, campaign performance, vendor relationships, data governance, and executive reporting. Directs cross-functional teams and external partners, manages significant budgets, develops fundraising KPIs, and mentors staff while advancing integrated English- and Spanish-language donor engagement.

Coordinates hospital infrastructure projects from planning through completion, managing schedules, budgets, contractors, inspections, quality and safety standards, change orders, progress reporting, and invoice verification. Reviews engineering drawings, construction specifications, and materials for compliance. Coordinates procurement, import planning, maintenance contracts, and delivery of perioperative equipment. Leads project meetings and collaborates with engineering, clinical, finance, logistics, and program teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Leads Operation Smile’s global brand strategy, governance, integrated marketing campaigns, stakeholder partnerships, agency relationships, and marketing operations. The role drives brand consistency, cross-functional alignment, global planning, campaign effectiveness, and continuous improvement across regions and country teams. It also develops resources and training to support consistent local implementation while strengthening awareness, engagement, fundraising, and organizational reputation.

Leads patient recruitment, community and stakeholder partnerships, program operations, and comprehensive care coordination at a cleft care center. Oversees patient pipelines, referrals, service integration, reporting, budgets, strategic planning, staff supervision, and multidisciplinary collaboration across nutrition, psychosocial, speech, dental, and surgical services.

Manages the DRC team’s financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, transactions, forecasting, audits, internal controls, compliance, procurement, risk management, inventory, insurance, and office operations. Provides financial analysis and guidance to management, oversees finance processes and staff, develops procurement and operations plans, ensures donor and regulatory compliance, and supports cost reduction and organizational financial health.

Supports the finance team with routine accounting activities, payment documentation, transaction tracking, expense collection, financial document organization, and government financial data entry. Assists with payments for patient transportation, meals, accommodation, training, and workshops. May travel to banks, tax offices, and other counterparties to handle financial matters and collect documents. The intern also performs scanning, reporting support, and other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Designs and manages global biomedical training programs: plans curricula, recruits and onboards trainees, oversees regional conferences, manages partnerships, tracks progress, evaluates programs, and supports country teams to build surgical equipment and workforce capacity in low-resource settings.
