Job Summary:
The Assistant Vice President – Global Billing & Operations is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and transforming the billing function within the global delivery framework. This role ensures billing operations are scalable, compliant, and aligned with enterprise goals. The AVP also provides leadership across high-level delivery operations and plays a pivotal role in driving platform transformation and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Operations:
- Lead global billing operations within the BFS domain, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely invoicing.
- Define and drive the roadmap for platform migration and process modernization across all regions.
- Champion digital transformation initiatives, including conversion to the end-state billing platform and automation of key processes.
- Oversee high-level operations tied to the revenue cycle, including billing governance and service delivery excellence.
- Result-oriented with an ownership and accountability mindset
- Drive pay for performance and culture of performance differentiation
- Executive presence, managing with influence and effective communication across stakeholder groups both regionally and globally
- Embed risk excellence culture across the teams
- Encourage and drive a culture of change and ideation
- Lead/drive commercial acumen – review of cost/budgets
- Taking accountability of end-to-end outcomes as an enterprise, collaborating across functions/business and locations
Performance & KPI Ownership:
- Own critical KPIs such as:
- Reduction of invoicing errors and billing disputes
- Timely conversion to the end-state billing platform
- Improvement in billing cycle time and customer satisfaction
- Compliance with internal controls, SOX, and audit readiness
- Track and analyze metrics to identify gaps and drive continuous improvement.
Effective Communication & Stakeholder Management:
- Act as the executive liaison for internal and external stakeholders, including Finance, Delivery Heads, Clients Service Teams and Auditors.
- Build strong partnerships with cross-functional teams (Client Service, SOX, IT, Risk) to ensure integrated and transparent billing operations.
- Represent billing and operations in operational committees and client governance forums.
- Communicate transformation goals, progress, and performance to stakeholders with clarity and influence.
People & Change Leadership:
- Lead a team of managers and associates; create a culture of ownership, innovation, and operational excellence.
- Drive organizational change by effectively communicating vision, managing resistance, and ensuring adoption of new systems and processes.
- Foster leadership development and succession planning within the billing and delivery functions.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field (preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in billing, finance operations, or global delivery, experience in a senior leadership role within the BFSI sector preferred.
- Proven experience in managing global or offshore delivery operations at scale.
- Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills.
