Job Title

About your role:

You will lead AI transformation for global issuing and processing platforms, connecting mainframe processing with cloud-native architecture. You will partner with engineering, product, operations, Legal, Privacy, Security and Compliance teams to improve delivery efficiency and speed to market while maintaining controls for privacy, security, auditability and regulatory expectations.

What you'll do:

• Define and execute a global AI roadmap across discovery, development and infrastructure operations, with baselines, targets and quarterly milestones tied to efficiency and speed-to-market outcomes.
• Apply AI to requirements extraction, regulatory and scheme mandate analysis, impact assessment, legacy code analysis and data lineage mapping.
• Embed AI-assisted engineering practices for code generation and review, test generation, automated refactoring, documentation and defect prediction.
• Drive AI-enabled operations through anomaly detection, predictive capacity planning, incident triage, root cause analysis and self-healing runbooks.
• Establish AI governance standards for model risk, data privacy, security, auditability, explainability, human-in-the-loop controls and production evaluation.
• Lead, coach and develop global technology teams while building communities of practice, playbooks and enablement programs that scale AI adoption.
• Partner with executives and technology leaders to remove delivery blockers, secure investment and report outcomes using cycle time, throughput, cost to serve, quality and time-to-market measures.

Experience you'll need to have:

• 15+ years of experience in technology leadership within financial services, payments or fintech, including issuing or processing platforms.
• 12+ years of experience managing and developing teams across matrixed, global technology organizations.
• 12+ years of experience with global card issuing platforms, including authorization, clearing and settlement, account management, billing, rewards, disputes, fraud or collections.
• 12+ years of experience with mainframe processing patterns and technologies such as COBOL, PL/I, assembler, Job Control Language (JCL), Customer Information Control System (CICS), Information Management System (IMS), DB2, Virtual Storage Access Method (VSAM), IBM MQ or high-volume batch and online transaction processing.
• 12+ years of experience with cloud-native and distributed architecture, including microservices, event-driven design, application programming interfaces (APIs), containers, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), DevSecOps, observability, resilience engineering or site reliability practices.
• 6+ years of experience applying production-grade artificial intelligence, including generative AI, large language models (LLMs), agentic workflows, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt and context engineering, AI-assisted development, AI-driven testing, machine learning operations (MLOps) or large language model operations (LLMOps).
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, information systems, data science or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.

Experience that would be great to have:

• Experience leading enterprise-wide AI transformation with audited efficiency gains.
• Experience delivering a mainframe modernization program for an issuer or processor.
• Cloud architecture, security, artificial intelligence or machine learning certifications, or equivalent applied experience.
• Experience working across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Asia-Pacific (APAC) or Latin America.

How you'll work:

• This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
