We provide the repairs and maintenance service in approx. 4,500 Dover District Council properties, Services provided: Responsive repairs, Voids, Disabled adaptations, External and major work and Kitchens and bathroom refurbishments.
About the Role:
As a Glazier you will be working alongside Dover District Council providing a stable and profitable contract, delivering excellent service and support through our local teams, who understand the importance of working together for the local community.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the daily repair and maintenance of doors, windows, and associated hardware. This includes changing locks, hinges, and handles, as well as replacing broken glass and applying sealant to ensure proper insulation. Experience with metal Crittall windows is a plus, as the role involves regular inspection and treatment of rust, lubrication of hinges and handles, and safe handling of glass replacements. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently to ensure all repairs are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Criteria:
- Previous Experience in Glazing and Working with Windows and Doors: The candidate must have hands-on experience in installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of windows and doors. This includes knowledge of different glazing techniques and materials, as well as the ability to handle and replace broken glass safely.
- UK Full Driving Licence: A valid UK driving licence is essential as the role may require traveling to different locations for maintenance tasks. The candidate should be comfortable driving to various sites and transporting tools and materials as needed.
- Excellent Communication Skills: The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with clients, team members, and supervisors. This includes explaining repair processes, providing updates on job status, and addressing any concerns or questions from clients.
- Manual Handling Experience: The role involves lifting, carrying, and moving heavy materials and equipment. The candidate should be knowledgeable about safe manual handling practices to prevent injuries and ensure efficient work.
- Locksmith Experience: The candidate should have experience in installing, repairing, and replacing locks. This includes knowledge of different types of locks and security systems, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve lock-related issues efficiently.
