We are seeking a GL Accountant to join our Accounting team.  The person in this role should be a strong communicator who is able to work effectively with peers and management alike in a high-paced environment. The ideal candidate is someone who have extensive experience in preparing journal entries, reconciling financial statements and accounts, and ensuring data accuracy. Successful candidates will have attention to detail, strong technical accounting experience and can respond quickly, energetically, and enthusiastically. This position reports to the Manager, Accounting. 

Location: Mandaluyong, Philippines

Job Description

  • Responsible for certain month-end close, reconciliation and reporting procedures.
  • Perform the day-to day accounting processes and procedures relating to, but not limited to fixed assets, prepaid expenses, payment processing, and certain accruals.
  • Perform tasks associated with the general ledger, (i.e., preparation and posting of monthly journal entries).
  • Perform monthly reconciliations and variance analysis for designated balance sheet and operating expense accounts.
  • Process payment, review daily bank activities, and do bank reconciliations.
  • Assist on agreed-upon procedures and year-end audit procedures with external auditors.
  • Assist with responding to BIR audit, as needed.
  • Preparation and submission of various reports to BIR, SEC, PEZA, and other government reportorial requirements.
  • Performs Fixed Asset management, analysis, and reporting.
  • Perform additional tasks as requested.
  • Interfaces with other departments to determine the monthly accruals and other monthly journal entries, especially relating to closing activities.  Communicate with the employee population regarding relevant accounting issues. 
  • Identify opportunities and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and quality continuously.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance. 
  • CPA
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting operations and close procedures.
  • Experience in NetSuite, Coupa (for invoicing) and Expensify (for employee reimbursement) is highly desirable.
  • Highly detail oriented and organized in work.
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.
  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, advanced Excel a plus (V-lookups, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Public accounting experience desirable.
