The Position
The Opportunity:
The Senior Tax Specialist/Local Tax Lead is responsible for Roche Philippines as well as other countries in the region’s tax compliance, tax planning, and accounting for all applicable taxes. Report directly to the tax manager with a dotted reporting line to the local finance manager.
The Senior Tax Specialist will work closely with the local finance team, shared services center, tax authority, and other tax professionals to ensure accurate and timely preparation, filing, and payment of tax returns. He/She will be responsible for conducting thorough tax research, creating, and implementing tax strategies, and managing tax audits. Provide guidance to the organization on tax planning and decision-making. The Senior Tax Specialist/Local Tax Lead will assist the Tax Manager to ensure both compliance and business partnership.
The ideal candidate is a team player with a proven track record in tax management and a deep understanding of the Philippines' tax laws. Must have excellent analytical and communication skills and have the ability to work independently to identify opportunities and potential areas of risk.
As the Senior Tax Specialist/Local Tax Lead, you are responsible for:

Prepare and manage all local tax operations (returns, payments), ensuring accurate and timely filing of applicable taxes.

Hands-on experience in end-to-end tax processes, from computation to payment of all applicable tax returns (e.g., monthly and annual submissions).

Experience in handling audits by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and other local tax authorities. Manage tax audits and respond to tax notices.

Interact with local tax authorities and manage tax audits. Liaise with external tax consultants for any tax-related cases.

Manage transfer pricing in accordance with the Group Transfer Pricing Policy. Provide support for the implementation of global tax policies.

Preferred knowledge of SAP accounting software systems; familiarity with other accounting tools and software is advantageous.

Stay updated on recent changes and calculations. Provide tax confirmations and clarifications regarding tax questions raised by relevant parties/stakeholders.
Who You Are:

Minimum of 5 years experience in a multinational company, either in a tax function or finance role with tax exposure, or from an accounting and tax advisory firm.

Stakeholder management skills, with a preference for candidates who have excellent interpersonal skills and experience in managing stakeholders (Senior Associates are highly preferred).

Service-oriented mindset with the ability to directly contribute to fulfilling essential duties linked to the position.

Strong understanding of local PHP taxes, including CIT, WHT, VAT, and transfer pricing.

Solid accounting knowledge and familiarity with business IT systems, particularly Microsoft Office, G-Suite, and SAP.

Fluent in spoken and written English.

High level of integrity and eagerness to learn new things.
