About the Role:
As a GIS Analyst I, you will be responsible for interacting with engineers and surveyors in order to create GIS data and drawings from inception to completion with minimal supervision and direction.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Research information, including survey data, aerial photographs, LIDAR data, environmental data, transportation information, and utility data
- Work with utility engineers and surveyors to update GIS databases, maps, and other important figures
- Act as main GIS contact on large projects
- Handle multiple projects at one time while prioritizing tasks with minimal guidance
- Run analysis on GIS data to support ongoing projects
- Create paper and web maps of utility networks using GIS software to tell a story that can be universally interpreted
- Create and update metadata along with documenting GIS procedures
- Use GIS knowledge in order to assist in coming up with creative solutions to ongoing projects
- Utilize ESRI ArcGIS Pro, ESRI Enterprise, AutoCAD, Google Earth, along with other industry-related software as needed to complete projects
- Recognize GIS workflow improvements and assist in implementing them depending on client and project needs
What You Bring:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS or a related field (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and training (required)
- Advanced understanding and experience using GIS software (ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro) (required)
- Strong cartography skills in creating paper and web maps (preferred)
- Familiarity with Enterprise GIS database support, maintenance, and management
- Experience in using Microsoft Office Software
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D
- Experience with maintaining and editing GIS databases
- Knowledge of field data collection tools and methodologies
- Demonstrated proficiency in handling multiple tasks daily and weekly
- Strong desire to advance your knowledge and keep up to date with upgrades in technology
- Ability to work safely and always obey safety regulations
- Communicate technical information both verbally and in writing
- Able to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment
- Ability to work overtime as required and/or travel for out-of-town assignments
- Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) polic

Skills Required
