Primary Purpose of Job:

Stantec is looking for a GIS Analyst - FME with expertise in using FME (Feature Manipulation Engine) by Safe Software in the Environment Services business line, to be based in the Pune, India office.
The GIS Analyst - FME role involves supporting the various Stantec offices globally for different projects that require experience in ETL (Extract Transform and Load) operations on volumes of spatial and non-spatial data. The role will support global requirements in various business line like Water, Energy, Environment and Buildings.
Key Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain robust FME Form (Workbench) workflows to extract, transform, validate, and load large volumes of spatial and non-spatial data across diverse formats and systems.
- Deploy and manage automated workflows using FME Flow to support scheduled, event-driven, and self-service data processing solutions.
- Collaborate closely with global project teams and stakeholders to gather requirements, ensure data quality, and deliver outputs aligned with client standards, timelines, and specifications.
- Apply best-practice geospatial ETL design patterns, including schema mapping, attribute normalization, reusable components, and scalable processing logic.
- Ensure geospatial accuracy and integrity, including coordinate reference systems, datum transformations, spatial validation, and output consistency.
- Perform comprehensive QA/QC activities, including validation rules, exception handling, completeness checks, and audit-ready documentation of processes.
- Work confidently with common spatial data concepts (vector and raster) and industry-standard formats such as file and enterprise geodatabases, shapefiles, and CAD–GIS interchange formats.
Qualifications and skills:
- Master’s degree (or higher) in Geospatial Science, Remote Sensing, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience designing and delivering production-grade FME Workbench solutions.
- Practical exposure to spatial decision support workflows, such as suitability or feasibility analysis, weighted overlay analysis, and basic network tracing, particularly within urban planning, water-wastewater, or environmental contexts.
- Practical exposure to the ArcGIS ecosystem (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and/or ArcGIS Enterprise) and integration of GIS outputs into client and project workflows.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with demonstrated capability to work independently on complex technical challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience producing technical documentation, user guides, and project reports.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary, global teams, including engineers, project managers, clients, and senior stakeholders.
- Strong requirements-gathering, stakeholder engagement, and presentation skills are advantageous.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt effectively to changing project demands.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and structured delivery environments is desirable.

- International project delivery experience is preferred.
