What You Will Do
- Prepare compliant Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and other regulatory documentation using the SAP EHS platform for various clients in the chemical, automotive, and pharmaceutical industries.
- Collaborate with customers to gather the necessary data for SDS preparation and to address regulatory inquiries.
- Determine and maintain the chemical composition of products based on information provided by chemical manufacturers and suppliers.
- Evaluate chemical products for hazard classification, including UN GHS, EU CLP, US OSHA, and Canadian WHMIS regulations.
- Assess products for marketability in global markets and determine their dangerous goods classification.
- Communicate directly with our ERD Authoring customers as needed, helping them understand our SDS authoring process and addressing any issues or questions they may have.
- Contribute to special projects and take on additional responsibilities as needed in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
What Makes You A Great Fit
- Minimum Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in a science-related field
- At least three (3) years of experience in hazard communication or authoring Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Relevant industry experience, such as training as a Chemical Laboratory Assistant, Chemical Technician, or Chemical Technical Assistant (CTA), will be considered.
- Knowledge of hazard classification, chemical regulations, and SDS authoring regulations (including UN GHS, EU CLP, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and an ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving, global environment.
- Proven problem-solving skills to analyze and resolve complex issues systematically under tight deadlines.
- Professional Proficiency in English to effectively communicate with a global customer base
- Preferred/Desired:
- Experience in a Customer-facing role
- Certification and/or working knowledge of transportation regulations such as ADR, RID, IATA, and IMDG
- Experience with at least one of the SDS authoring platforms, such as SAP EHS, 3E Generate, WERCS, etc.
