Key responsibilities & accountabilities:
- Support the design and development of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems used in pumps, and water technology products.
- Prepare and modify 2D drawings and 3D models using Creo and other CAD tools.
- Create and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation in accordance with company standards.
- Interpret customer specifications, engineering requirements, and industry standards.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOMs) within ERP systems.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to engineering drawings.
- Participate in product validation, prototype evaluations, and design reviews.
- Support engineering change requests and product improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, sourcing, operations, quality, and global engineering teams to ensure successful product execution.
- Assist in troubleshooting engineering and manufacturing issues and recommend practical solutions.
- Support documentation activities associated with engineering releases and product lifecycle management.
- Learn and apply engineering best practices, design standards, and product development processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, and innovation.
Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from recognized university
- 0-1 years of experience in a Mechanical Design role.
- Internship or academic project experience related to mechanical design, CAD, pumps, fluid systems, or product development will be an advantage
Required knowledge, skill & abilities:
- Basic understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as sheet metal, casting, machining, welding, and fabrication.
- Exposure to engineering drawings and GD&T concepts.
- Exposure in 3D CAD software, preferably Creo; knowledge of AutoCAD will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with BOM creation and engineering documentation.
- Basic understanding of pumps, valves, motors, or industrial equipment is desirable.
- Exposure to FEA, CFD, or simulation tools is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of ERP and PLM systems is desirable.
