Under the general direction of the Regional IT Director – Latin America, the IT Manager will manage the effort to execute IT activities in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures. The IT Manager will drive day-to-day operations and continuous service improvements across IT Platforms including the development, implementation, and support of core solutions as well as the transition of legacy applications to the strategic platforms. This role will contribute to aligning local resources in IT to global best practices to ensure cost-effective solutions are delivered while meeting requirements of performance and high availability. The manager will partner with the regional director to implement platform standardization and application rationalization activities while building a solid foundation of technology for Chile.
Responsibilities- Lead and direct a team of developers and specialists working across modern and legacy codebases, allocating resources to meet IT Department priorities and committed timelines.
- Identify gaps and shortcomings across disparate platforms and drive practical, innovative approaches to simplify and modernize them.
- Mentor staff, evaluate performance, and recommend the department salary budget.
- Create a work environment that motivates the team and holds it accountable for delivery.
- Engage Regional IT leadership on architecture, standards, and technology direction from both strategic and tactical perspectives.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, vendors, and services aligned with regional strategy.
- Collaborate with Chile and regional IT leaders on standardization and application rationalization to reduce redundancy and support scale.
- Apply project management best practices to application development initiatives, with detailed plans covering scope, schedule, resources, and cost.
- Work with business partners, consultants, IT functional areas, and vendors to assess feasibility and define system and cost plans.
- Build strong working relationships with operational leaders through clear, consistent communication that aligns IT services to business objectives.
- Partner with the Regional Director and global leaders, architects, and partners on best practices, techniques, and security tools.
- Coordinate responses to client and third-party security inquiries and assessments, working with regional IT leadership to review and address client requirements.
- Ensure approved operational procedures and application development policies, standards, and procedures are followed.
Experience:
- Ten (10) years of progressive experience serving an IT organization, with at least 5 years of experience in a management role.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience leading IT teams and managing technology operations
- Experience working with legacy systems and participating in modernization initiatives
- Strong project management capabilities, including planning, execution, and resource coordination
- Ability to engage and collaborate with business and technical stakeholders
Technical Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Familiarity with system integrations and API architectures (e.g., REST)
- Experience working with databases (SQL)
- Understanding of IT service management frameworks such as ITIL
- General knowledge of infrastructure, disaster recovery, and continuity planning
