Job Summary:
The GeoScience Support Associate is responsible for supporting end-users in the Oil & Gas exploration domain by assisting with the interpretation of geoscience data, geological correlations, seismic interpretation, and well log analysis. The role requires a strong understanding of geological structures, petroleum resource plays, and coordinate systems used in mapping. The associate will assist users in effectively utilizing geoscience software tools, primarily GVERSE GeoGraphix®, and provide technical support to enhance customer workflows.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide effective customer interaction and support to ensure successful end-user outcomes.
- Respond to user inquiries and support tickets via CRM through email, phone, or remote assistance.
- Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot software issues or workflow-related challenges faced by customers.
- Monitor the Helpdesk/Service Center system and respond promptly to assigned tickets.
- Install, configure, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain GVERSE GeoGraphix® and related hardware/software.
- Help users maximize the value of software tools by interpreting instructions and addressing questions clearly.
- Develop and maintain user documentation, including workflow guides and reference materials.
- Document troubleshooting steps, solutions, and customer cases accurately in the CRM system.
- Maintain confidentiality and safeguard client information at all times.
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to achieving shared objectives and departmental goals.
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of Oil & Gas exploration concepts and geoscience data interpretation.
- Solid knowledge of geological structures, petroleum systems, resource plays, and coordinate systems used in mapping.
- Proficient in computer usage; ability to learn and troubleshoot technical software.
- Strong communication, presentation, and customer service skills.
- Ability to deliver software training, consultancy sessions, and pre-sales demonstrations.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple time zones.
- Professional behavior with strong documentation and organizational skills.
Experience:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Geoscience is required.
- MS in Remote Sensing & GIS is preferred.
- 1–3 years of direct experience in a technical, geoscience, or software support role.
- Demonstrated participation in professional development activities such as workshops, networking, or professional societies is desirable.
