Genomics Access Lead, Europe (Remote) 

 

This role can be based at any Illumina European hub including the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands.

The role 

              

As the Genomics Access leader for Illumina, you will be responsible for developing the regional strategy for large national genomic initiatives in Europe, in coordination with the global and sub-regional functions to accelerate these opportunities in region. As leader, you will also be responsible project managing and coordinating local and regional teams to ensure all large-scale genomic initiatives (large government funded initiatives that aim to bring genomics into healthcare at a large or national scale) follow the same framework and there is consistency in Illumina’s approach to ensuring success. This role will work cross functionally with global and regional teams to align strategy and operational imperatives, document and provide a single point of contact for review, assessment and execution of these projects.

Position Responsibilities:  

  • Project manage, align strategy, communication and enablement of large-scale initiatives and assigned partnerships, ensuring Illumina approach these in a consistent and efficient way 

  • Leverage internal relationships within the region and globally to reach sales goals for large scale initiatives 

  • Lead strategy in Large/ Strategically important projects for the European region, forming strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization (e.g., Global Genomics Access, business development, market development, product development, medical affairs) 

  • Communicate the needs of large-scale initiatives from both internal and customer requirements providing a channel to product marketing and R&D 

  • Develop high-value, long-term profitable customer accounts through relationship building and partnership 

  • Define strategies incl. opportunity segmentation and best practices to accelerate uptake. 

  • Stratify new initiatives based on volume, market and potential 

  • Act as a central communication point to ensure information flow on all aspects of the business relationship is efficient, effective, and deployed appropriately 

  • Ensure that all cross functional deliverables are provided on time and ensure infrastructure and compliance meet our operational imperatives. 

  • Responsible for maintaining on a quarterly cadence, in line with forecasting schedule, financial targets and updates and communication of these updates to all stakeholders. 

  • Develop a network of influential KOLs and customer relationships across the European region. 

 

Position Requirements:  

  • Excellent understanding of genomics, sequence analysis or related disciplines. 

  • Experience in managing projects, functions, resources and/or teams. 

  • Experience in forming deep customer relationships with a demonstrated superior problem solving and interpersonal skills in a customer facing environment. 

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication and training skills. 

  • Ability to act and prioritize efforts and resources in line with strategic intent and long-term goals. 

  • Experience in working across geographies and knowledge of European healthcare systems 

  • Ability to build and leverage matrixed relationships to exert influence internally without ownership. 

  • Travel expectations approximately 30-50%  

 

Preferred Experience/Education/Skills:  

  • Experience with the application and management of healthcare financing projects at the state or government levels is preferred.
