Enjoy a balanced lifestyle near outdoor recreation, professional sports, cultural attractions, and the Rocky Mountains while serving a growing community with meaningful healthcare needs.
About this role:
In this role, you’ll join a collaborative, patient-centered team of three experienced surgeons and one advanced practice provider, delivering a broad range of general, acute care, and trauma surgery in a collegial, community-based setting with strong support resources. The practice offers a broad spectrum of general surgery, including appendectomies, cholecystectomies, exploratory laparotomies, complex abdominal surgery, and the management of trauma, acute care, and elective cases.
Platte Valley Hospital, a 98-bed Level III Trauma Center, has four operating rooms with dedicated surgical support staff. When appropriate, higher-acuity cases are transferred to Good Samaritan Medical Center or Saint Joseph Hospital, where robotic surgery platforms are available. Robotics experience is not required for this role.

Additional vacation coverage may be required, with locum support available. After-hours clinic call volume is minimal.
While on call, surgeons are expected to:
- Handle trauma activations within the scope of a Level III Trauma Center
- Provide surgical coverage for the hospital and emergency department
- Independently address urgent surgical needs
- Support trauma handoffs and inpatient care
To ensure a timely response, surgeons must live within approximately 20 minutes of Platte Valley Hospital.
What you’ll bring:
- Minimum of two years post-training experience
- MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine
- ACGME Residency training in General Surgery
- Board certification or eligibility in General Surgery
- ATLS and ACLS certifications required

- Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process
Preferred experience:
- Prior trauma experience
- Ability to independently manage emergency and acute care surgical cases
- Experience practicing in a community hospital setting
How we'll support you:
- Guaranteed base salary plus productivity incentives
- $25,000 starting bonus for a two-year commitment
- Up to $20,000 relocation assistance (if applicable)
