This role will roll up to the General Ledger global lead and will be responsible leadership of the North America IT team. This role is for a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.
Responsibilities:

  • Provides IT strategic direction for projects managed including developing detailed IT work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports.
  • Ensures managed areas are defining and implementing systems that are aligned with business strategy and goals.
  • Persuades and influences others through communication and diplomacy skills; may negotiate with external parties.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
    Resolves complex and varied issues with substantial potential impact.
  • Exercises influence over team budget, policy formulation and planning.
  • Has significant business impact through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes and industry standards.
  • Possesses an understanding of client core business functions.
  • Directly impacts the business through contribution to technical direction and strategic decisions for IT Project Leadership.
  • Utilizes comprehensive knowledge of multiple areas within technology to achieve technology objectives.
  • Responsible for resource management and allocation of work; acts as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts.
  • Provides in-depth and sophisticated analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems and develop innovative solutions.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience in a related technology role and subject matter expert in overall field


Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree
