General Ledger Accountant

Work Arrangement / Work Shift: Fully Remote / UK Timezone

Role Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Finance team as our new Accountant. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to key financial processes such as core accounting for month end close, reporting, analysis, audit support, group consolidation and management of intercompany transactions.

The ideal candidate will possess strong finance and accounting skills with a collaborative mindset, a proactive approach to problem-solving and a desire to build their understanding of accounting and operational processes. You’ll be working closely with stakeholders across the business and within finance to ensure the best possible information is made available to colleagues and deliver strong, predictable customer collections.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Prepare and post journal entries: Ensure accurate recording of business transactions.

• Reconcile GL accounts: Perform monthly reconciliations to maintain financial integrity.

• Manage month-end and year-end close: Support timely and accurate financial
  reporting.

• Handle intercompany transactions: Reconcile accounts and communicate with global teams.

• Conduct variance analysis: Identify and explain differences in financial data.

• Support audits: Provide documentation and assist with internal and external audit
  processes.

• Prepare financial reports and analysis: Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual
  reports for management and regulatory bodies. Provide analysis to deliver insight for areas that require management attention.

• Cash flow reporting and analysis to ensure that monthly cash flow review is insightful and enables good cash management.

• Order to Cash: experience of working with revenue and billing systems & processes.

• Able to step into this process as needed to provide cover across the team.

• Experience of working with Auditors and ensuring delivery of audit requirements.

• Systems Savvy, quick to adapt to new systems and able to keep tools in sync: Work across NetSuite, MAXIO, Abacum, Yokoy, Stripe, CRM, and other internal platforms

• Deliver insightful AR reporting, financial analysis and insight to support decision-
  making

• A strong communicator in English language, both written and oral, who is as
  comfortable in a spreadsheet or on email as on a VC call

• A good sense of humour and positive outlook

What You’ll Need:

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is essential.

• Recognised accounting qualifications (CPA, CMA, ACCA or equivalent).

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS)

• At least 3–5 years in accounting, preferably in a in technology businesses, shared
  services or multinational environment. Ideally knowledge of SaaS billing, recurring
  revenue principles, multi entity consolidation and multi-dimensional general ledger
  reviews.

• Started career in audit and has a strong understanding of requirements in an audit
  and preparation of statutory accounts.

• Strong MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)

• Proficiency in accounting software e.g., NetSuite (Preferred), QuickBooks, Xero,
  SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.
