Role Overview:
Could you be our next General Accounting Specialist? Globe Life is looking for a General Accounting Specialist to join the team!
In this role, you will be responsible for managing daily deposit operations, account reconciliations, Workday ERP system data entry, and general ledger support activities across multiple companies while ensuring compliance with SOX requirements.
This is an on-site position located in McKinney, Texas.
What You Will Do:
- Prepare, balance, and process deposits for various companies using remote deposit online service platforms.
- Oversee refund deposits and ensure accurate processing.
- Enter all deposits and adjustments into the ERP system with precision and timeliness.
- Key miscellaneous payments directly into Workday, ensuring proper coding, documentation, and data accuracy prior to submission.
- Index departmental ledger entries into OnBase document management system.
- Assist with maintaining supplier information in the vendor management system while ensuring data integrity and accuracy across all systems.
- Provide assistance to the General Ledger Manager with various daily tasks, special projects, and cross-functional team collaboration.
What You Can Bring:
- High school Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in accounting, finance, or business administration preferred.
- 0–2 years of general accounting or bookkeeping experience; entry-level candidates with a strong academic background in accounting will be considered.
- Relevant accounting certifications or coursework demonstrating proficiency in accounting principles.
- Basic understanding of account reconciliations, general ledger functions, and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Exposure to ERP systems preferred; experience with cash handling, deposit processing, or Workday is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaborate cross-departmentally.
- Professional demeanor, strong work ethic, problem-solving abilities, and eagerness to learn and grow.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, sorting, filtering) and strong keyboarding skills; willingness to learn Workday ERP and other accounting software.
